An average player who'll probably have a deceptively great season if Chelsea go back to 4-3-3. Hope Essien and Makelele/Mikel have put in the work this pre-season because they're going to end up running their bollocks off whilst Fatboy breaks out the cigars on the edge of the 18yrd box and hangs around for a pass.

Prediction: He'll score another 20 dodgy goals against the Prems worse sides and will be heralded as England's finest midfielder by the time Euro 2008 rolls round

I don't particularly like the ****e that Lampard comes out with but I do think he is a fine player.

His goal and assists records speak for themselves no?

I'm with you, he is a limited player, but is exceptional in a certain role. I think he would do well in the Deco position for Barca - his short passing is excellent and they are not short of guile else where so his long range shooting would add a different threat to their team.

I love the fact that having had 2 exceptional seasons already for Chelsea people claim that if he does well this term it will some how be deceptive. It might be that he is actually a better player than you are willing to admit, me thinks.

Only reason he's still at Chelsea is that nobody wants him. He might be wanked over in here but he's not rated very highly in Europe.
