    What a clueless ****.

Tottenham visit Anfield for a Premiership fixture given added spice by the comments of Spurs manager Martin Jol yesterday. Jol was dismissive of the rebuilding job carried out by Benitez on Merseyside and also questioned the worthiness of this week's big signing Daniel Agger.

Jol said: "People say Liverpool had slipped in the past few years, but they were always in the top four or five. Tottenham were not, and yet now we are fourth in the table, so maybe we have done a better job than Liverpool."

Regarding Agger, whom Liverpool have bought from Brondby to supplement the central defensive talents of Jamie Carragher and Sami Hyypia, Jol was also critical. Jol was 40/1 to get the sack at the start of the season - better odds than Benitez and Maureen FFS! Only Slur Alex was above him. Thought to myself at the time it might be worth a punt but as usual didnt bother.

Would love to see how much money he's spent over the past 3 seasons. Gotta be pushing 150mill.

Can't pass, tackle for ****, scores few goals when's suppossed to be this big 'box to box' midfielder, he puts little effort in.

Jenas is ****e and I've been on his case for a long time.

The one thing he has going for him is he covers lots of ground. He runs a lot. He IS box-to-box - he just does nothing.

I really don't understand why more wasn't made of him being in the world cup squad. In what situation was he ever going to play?

People wittered on about Walcott but I thought, although a bit left field if he had bought along another striker it would have been a decent enough gamble. But taking Jenas and not another forward remain completely baffling to me.

I wonder if this "buy british" policy at Spurs comes from Jol or the board. Either way, I think that´s partly to blame for their spending and lack of success. They pay over the odds for most players due to their nationality and most of them are only average but hyped up by the british (press).
How many of Bent, King, Dawson, Jenas, Defoe, Keane, Bale, Robinson, Lennon, Murphy, Routledge, Huddlestone and co. would make our bench let alone the 1st XI?
                  * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Only Lennon would make our first XI, but I reckon any of King, Dawson, Keane (feel I should point out he's not British btw before some Irishman comes along and berates me lol), and Bale would be worthy of a place in our squad.

You can still bet on that Jol will be the first sacked manager on Betfair.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Spurs had the least number of clean sheets in the league last year.I am stunned that Jol has not done anything immediate to address their defense.Their defense is alright if King is fit but withouth him( which is most of the time) they are absolutely ****e.

I agree they bought Kaboul and Bale. But I dont think any of them are gonna improve the defense in the long run. They need someone like Hyppia/Ayala to give some experience.

And oh.Paul Robinson is the worst national team goalkeeper in Europe.

These quotes are exactly what came to mind when I heard he was leading the sack race.
I've got no time for him at all, **** him and Spurs too.

Apparently he's a top class coach. Perhaps he should go back to being a coach cos he doesn't look cut out to be a top class manager to me.

                              I agree

He does buy some very random players....and what is his obsession with buying full backs, playing them one season then replacing them?! Or having about 50 centre backs and CM's?!
