One of 'em got a bit of a fag burn on his interior and the tight-fisted ******* billed her for it.

If I remember rightly Dave Jones was his manager at the time and Lescott gave him a right runaround - lying about his whereabouts, injured all the time and in no rush to get fit.

In fairness to him, his displays this term (and last) have been outstanding so maybe he's got his act together.
    Nice guy...............

      Voronin's got 5 goals in 44 caps.

Heskey's performances at the back-end of last season, to keep Wigan up, and at the start of this have been fantastic, powerhouse displays. The sort we all know he's capable of but in the past produced so rarely.

In the context of international footballers, Heskey is pants. It's a no brainer mate.

        He was a confidence player.
He had tons of potential and anyone who says he doesn't is either blind or not a football fan. Pace, power, strength, good in the air, hammer shot.

He didn't fulfil it, though...at all.

I'm going to stick up for you here mate.

Why not Heskey? I mean when he played with Owen for Liverpool Owen did very well indeed. Heskey on his day can destroy teams those days are few and far between but what option has McCocknose got? Andy ****ing Johnson?

The Super Cup was proof enough that he did have talent.

Why does everything have to be black and white?

I know Heskey's limitations and wasted more energy screaming at the top of my lungs at him than I care to remember.

But Emile Heskey on his game is an international footballer - no doubt about it. The fact he only shows it once every blue moon is to his great shame, but still the point remains.

It's easy to sit in a spinny chair in an office and say "Heskey is pants" or "McClaren should be looking to youth", but it only takes a modicum of football knowledge to understand why he's been called up.

He was absolutely incredible that night. Unplayable.

Exactly mate. I can only assume the people in this thread whinging about Heskey would rather see Andy Johnson, ALAN SMITH or David Nugent in the squad.

Not everything is black and white. This one is though.

I understand why he's been called up, but it still highlights how poor things are with regards to player availability. He's average at best.

Well England have a dearth of strikers to choose from and have had for ages, but that's not Heskey's fault either.

He's not average at his best. Over the years he's been average, or worse, many more times than he's been good, but at his best he is virtually unplayable and, given that he's in excellent form at the moment, it's obvious why he's in the squad.

That's the main point there IS no-one else.

But let me ask you this if you had to go into a crunch England game with either

                        Owen and Smith
                        Owen and Nugent
                        Owen and Johnson

Or Owen and Heskey up front

                        Who would you chose?

Personally I'd pick Heskey everytime however as I couldn't give 2 ****s about England as I hate Mcpissflap with a passion and I find it hard to support ****s like Terry so I hope he picks Owen and Hawkins.

Ya but he was an alright player on his day.He always had that sulky look like he was crying. He was no Shearer or even Les Ferdinand. They gave defenders a tough time and were hard.Dion Dublin was better at that role than Heskey.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
                          everyone wants to know

Thing is though, what he's capable of is highly irrelevant if he barely ever produces it.

For this saturday, i'd go with Owen and Johnson up front.
