Does he deserve it?Is he really that bad a footballer that sport phone ins are all debating on what he brings to the table and even,if he is even a premiership footballer!

We as fans proberbly know the most about him as a footballer than most.He wasn't that bad,was he?

      Your thoughts,please.
on current form he's the best option for england as shaggy pointed out further up the thread. the fact owen is fit again might have clinched it for him, because they are the most effective partnership england have for these next two games.

johnson is pants, headless chicken with no finishing ability whatsoever and very limited set of skills. push and run player. his scoring record has been wank since arteta takes all the pens now.

the rest don't even deserve a mention as they've done even less than johnson this season

Ashton looks like he's lived in the gym since he got injured. He's a bit off the pace understandably but if this wasn't a competitive match I'd have put him with Owen. I think he might be an important player for England in the next few years.

As for the weekend, Heskey's the best of a bad bunch and if he's on top of his game at the moment then he's the best option.

Thought he played well. Missed a sitter mind you, but still had a constructive game and looked dangerous throughout.

I have to say though, Israel were ****e, ****ing ****e.

Fancy Hiddink's Russia to steal a point on Wednesday night.

With his record i would fancy them taking all 3 pts

Ivenhoe played OK, however, it just reminded me of his time with us. Some nice touches outside the box, at times looking threatening outside the box but absolutely no end product.

He could play another 10 games for England and I doubt he would score. He did no where near enough to keep his place

Last night was typical Heskey, great link up play outside the box and looking dangerous but couldn't hit a cows arse with a frying pan.

His miss was no worse than Owen's to be fair.

But it looks like he will keep his place. Very, very harsh on Crouch who deserves to start.
