On January 28, 2006, one day before his fortieth birthday, he scored his 950th goal (official FIFA count). He is currently pursuing the figure 1,000 goals, a mark officially obtained only by legendary Pelé.

i havent done the sums to be fair, but them goals figures at first glance dont look like they add up to 950.
Agreed on romario though, he is without doubt one of the finest players i have ever seen, up there with pele, cruyff, maradona, salif diao etc

it was interesting to see his name there

what I liked about Romario was not only his ability but his balance, He sort of floated. He also had a really nice arrogance about him.

                        Professional club appearances and goals
counted for the domestic league only and
from wiki, so no cups, or european games or friendlies...
"I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. Today I will begin walking the road to hell. But you will choose your own path. So, soon you may be seeing heaven. Choose the sword, and you will join me. Choose the ball and you join your mother, in death. You don’t understand my words, but you must choose. So… come boy, choose life or death."

you cant include friendlies, surely?? or you just pick a friendly against the local school team to boost up your goals tally.

Agree there, dont think we`ll ever see a player with his centre of balance again. and the way he used to turn on a sixpence.
                              Was a joy to watch
