Shevchenko.. what has happened to him?

He just has never looked teh same player since joining the Chavs, and lets face it he was a great great goalscorer for Milan (except in Istanbul!!).

What on earth has happened to him? I feel for him despite absolutely hating the Chavs and hope he gets out of there in January.

Alan Hansens verdict on him just sums up his demise...

BBC pundit Alan Hansen says he does not ever expect Shevchenko to come good.

"He can't run, that's the problem he's got," Hansen said. "If you can't run as a centre forward, you're in trouble."
"Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

He got old and was too lazy/dull to go back to basics with his game when things got tough.

Too many years playing in the slower Serie A and a tad too old to adapt his game combined with Drogba playing out of his skin has scuppered him

Joined the wrong club for the wrong reasons.

Reckon if joined us he'd score a bunch, but then I have no evidence to prove this theory.

How much would you pay though?

He's certainly not worth 30 million bones.

Well no you wouldnt pay what they paid at all. Id take a straight swap. Probably.

Don't think they'd be easily tempted by that

He thought that he would score everytime when he got a chance pre the 2005 CL final.

He hasn't been the same player since Dudek made that fantastic save from around two yards.

That save meant the end of Sheva as the best scorer in the world.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Lost his hunger. Was nobody to touch him as a pure goalscorer though for a number of years.

He has ruined his reputation of been one of the best strikers of modern times.

No he'll be known as a flop for the rest of his lef except in Ukraine and some parts of Italy

A sad decline, in some ways. It's painful watching any once-great striker, plodding about like a Sunday League player...cf Fowler.

The "pain" is more than eased, though, when you consider his decline is taking place at Chelsea and they spunked thirty million big ones on him.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
