Hey yo!
My dads' mate (co-worker actually) is a life-long AS Roma fan and his parents hold season tickets. His mom goes to the game just because his dad is there all the time and now (unfortunately) his dad is really ill and in the hospital and most probably won't be able to go to the Rome derby. His wife doesn't want to go either so they both offered tickets for the Rome derby to their son (tickets for all the rest of the games are given to his cousins).
Since he is great friends with my dad, he offered one ticket to him, but my dad can't be arsed about it ... So he offered it to me and I accepted.
I'm flying to Rome for the Rome derby on 30/31st of October this year. We've met last week and he said that I must experience the Rome derby as there is nothing quite like it in the world. I'm actually buzzin about it, but on the other hand, I don't know if I'm going to like it with all those fire-crackers flying around my head (tickets are for the southern Roma stand).
So I'm now asking if anyone here has been at Olimpico the night Liverpool played there in 2000/01 season and how it was like? Is it safe? I mean with all this crap happening in Italy, I'm concerned about safety issues you understand.
I've watched that ****s Danny Dyer's Rome derby football factowheez, and although it seemed it was awesome, I wasn't so amused by all that smoke, rockets etc.
Anyhow, it should be a cracking trip and I hope I'll be able to get the derby experience on the camera and share it with you lot.
