    Manchester City defender Micah Richards admits he has ambitions of playing for Arsenal.

    The 19-year-old centre-half has been superb for City in their flying start to life under Sven-Goran Eriksson and he has also performed well at right-back for England.

    Richards was born in Birmingham and grew up in Leeds but Arsenal were his favourites as a child and his long-term goal is to be a Gunner.

    "I was a big Ian Wright fan when I was younger, so I supported Arsenal," he told Nuts magazine. "Wright and Patrick Vieira were my idols so yeah, if the opportunity came to play for them one day I'd take it.

    "But right now I'm concentrating on trying to keep City in the top half, and we've got the players to do it."
    Just believe and you never know what will happen.

    According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

      I think we just got the reason to why his contract talks have stalled.

      I can't see Wenger missing out on him. Senderos out and Richards in
      Just believe and you never know what will happen.

          Not sure Wenger would buy him for a crazy amount. He's also English, which is taboo at Arsenal

            I like to hear these things if he was talking about us, but if Carra or Gerrard came out saying they would like to go to Man U, Everton, Chelsea I would hate it and they wouldn't be my fav players anymore.
            I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

              We need to go hard in with a silly money bid in Jan, 20m+ if need be. This lad is the real deal and is a ready made fullback/Centreback.

              Finnen has a couple od seasons left in him and can be moved to left back if need be, like Carra was. Play Richards at rightback till Carra keels over. Mica and Agger sounds good.

                          very true, it's not Wenger's style of transfer to spunk 20mill (?) on richards.
                          But you never know. Micah is a quality player and would love to see him wear our shirt rather than the Arsenal.
