Totally agree with that.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostI'd be ****ing raging if i were Milan. Some Celtic fan gets on the pitch and gives their keeper a slap and their keeper is the one being banned?
Seriously wtf?
This was about Celtic not being able to control their dodgy fans. Not about Dida's theatrics.
That has got to be the first and only time a home fan has run on the pitch and the opposing teams player has come off worse.
The lad will get in somewhere else in another game.
Look at how our Fancards work.
What are they gonna do, mugshot at the turnstiles for every game. I doubt it.
The lad will be a hero. Celtic get a peanuts fine and he gets Dida a two match ban.
Although Dida does have himself slightly to blame.

You even been to Parkhead on match day?

I have been many times and its not common knowledge, more slurry from spud, at least ur consistant.Referee Lubos Michel said: “If my assistant referee had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty, and sent off goalkeeper Petr Cech.”

The fan shouldn't have even been on the pitch regardless of Didas' actionsSo what`s your point???????
and Celtic should now be made to play behind closed doors for ex amount of games.
£20,000 havin a ****in laugh.
Who's come out of it worse off cos it sure ain't Celtic...
Yes he over reacted but your saying that Didas' actions are worse than the fan running on to the pitch and taking a swipe.
If that gob****e hadn't have run on to the pitch in the first place then this thread wouldn't even exist.
That's my point!!!!!!!

Not even anywhere near the same. What about the guy that ran on the pitch when we won the cl in 05, had his pic with the team, should we be banned from europe again, or the ataturk be closed down for a few games!!! FFS
The lad didn't strike a player.
And it wasn't our stewards in charge, who let him on to the pitch .

Your point is fair to a degree but I think the majority of the responsibility for a fans nobbish actions have to be his own. It is clearly a problem that Celtic have to be asked to address but a fine plus presumably being asked to sort the underlying security issues (and the threat that the failure to do so would lead to more substantial punishment) seems a punishment which should be applied to all teams in this situation as long as it is a one off.
Dida was IMO unfortunate to get a two match ban but one would have been reasonable. It is important that players are seen to behave in a reasonable fashion, his actions were a clear act of gamesmanship and couldn't be punished during the game. When it is that blatant a message does need to be sent out by the authorities that it is unacceptable."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
