And, especially after his first season with Newcastle, I have been convinced that the Michael Owen who played for Liverpool Football Club lives on only in our memories. I'd pick him up on a Bosman, but that's about it.

Furthermore, we've now got a guy with a bit of pace and his best years ahead of him named Fernando Torres. That's all I have to say about that.

    here's to the future.
Thanks for all you've done for us Mikey, but as has been said, the LFC Owen is now just a memory.

Michael Owens priorities are (in order) :-

            1. Michael Owen
            2. England
            3. Whoever pays his wages

I am sorry I hate it when people say that. He is English he was born in England, that's basically the same as saying Ryan Giggs is English.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He went to the same school as Ian Rush did as a boy unless i'm mistaken He's bloody Welsh and turned his back on his heritage and birthright. I'd still feel the same if he had played for Wales anyway. I have zero interest in any international football and Midget Mikey is more concerned about England than the clubs and fans who pay his wages. Not in the same league, ballpark or even postcode as the mighty Robbie Fowler or Ian Rush. They are true Liverpool legends and little midgie Mikey will always be the man who left for pastures greener and the glory of the famous Real Madrid and won **** ALL!!!

Sorry lads but I hate the little ****. Robbie and Rushie were natural but Owen seems manufactured more than anything. When he was about to break through to Melwood and the first team I was hoping that little Jones kid was gonna make it also coz he had a cracking scoring record for the kids. I can't remember his first name but he went to play for Tranmere afterwards.

He was a fantastic player for us and I was gutted when he left but ever since then he's had his priorities all wrong.

I have got a different opinion than you, I feel that your nationality is where you were born. I was born in Glasgow and moved down to England at six months old and I feel Scottish not English. Owen was born is Chester so I count him as English. My brother on the otherhand is 2 years older than me and counts himself as English. It's all on people's opinion anyway

so lets say has a Nigerian father an Estonian mother, the act of conception took place in Switzerland, the mother carried the baby and nurtured for 9 months in Russia, she gave birth to the baby in England and moments after the baby was born it was given up for adoption in france where it lived the the rest of it's life, all of it's life a part from those few hours in England...

                          so that child is English?

Choose the sword, and you will join me. Choose the ball and you join your mother, in death. You don’t understand my words, but you must choose. So… come boy, choose life or death."

That's the one. So bloody long ago it had slipped my mind. They were raving about him but sadly it didn't pan out. Does anyone know why he was let go so early? Was he that bad? He had some cracking reviews when he was a teenager as I recall.

                                Yep.

Privately he must be absolutely gutted at what's happened to him since he's left us.

He hasn't won anything since he left us "to win trophies".
