Yeah but we and the other home nations don't big ourselves up to deluded heights, unlike England. Same goes for life in general, everyone likes to se vanity fail!

I generally like Engerland to go far so I have an interest but I want them to get beaten in the semi's so we won't be listening to them for 50 years.

Was watching Israel Russia the other day and it was a joke the way that **** Platt was going on. He was talking like the Israelis were actually English and the win didn't mean anything to them, only England!

England get routinely bashed and slagged off all the time by Irish, Scots and Welsh. Always openly rooting for whoever England are playing, laughing when they fail etc etc. And that's fine. The English are used to it. It's just banter.

However, whenever anyone English laughs at failure by any of the other home nations, those on the receiving end ALWAYS throw their toys out of the pram.

I don't understand it. It's just banter, but so many Celts absolutely love dishing it out but don't like it when they get some back.

I'm sure there are some Scots etc that do get behind England, but on the whole you are correct. And who gives a ****. Why would I care if a Scot wanted England to win or not.

What people really need to understand is just how much England as a nation is absolutely HATED north of the border east of the border and all ****ing round the border. Seriously! Then and only then can you understand the bilious tripe spat out on the phone-ins. They support Scotland and then every team playing England (and i'm not even sure if it's in that order necessarily).

Personally i have very little time for it. Anything i say is just banter. A lot of people are entrenched in history and bitterness though, life's too short i reckon.
