What do you guys normally do during the european championships?
Support teams playing England!!!
In all seriousness, I've always thought it a bit hypocritical of us welsh supporting any team bar England when we support an English club in Liverpool. Personally I don't mind England doing well so it's a shame that there are no Home Nations to follow next summer - but I don't mind the fact that the media frenzy will not get on my t*ts during the tournament!!!

But it's who we are mate and what we do. Let's face it, the majority of the English slag us off and we do likewise. I don't think there's any malicious intent there it's just been done for years and will continue for years to come. A bit of banter never done much harm and between Liverpool fans it very seldom gets nasty as we're united in our love of the true Reds of English football.
On a serious note - I'll be glad to be able to pick up a paper this summer and not have to skip the usual 10-12 pages of patriotic bollocks in the days before each England game (not to mention the centrefold pull out flags etc.).
Dont forget the bird with her tits out with an engurland flag wrapped round her arse
We dont become England haters, we are always England haters.
I watch them play but dont care if they win or lose. I like watching them in the early rounds to see how the liverpool lads get on, but enjoy seeing them fail at the end.
Its the same as rugby. I was so relieved when they lost the final.
I felt sorry for Scotland and Northen Ireland and the republic usually do better, but to be honest these teams tried to qualify, England expected to qualify. No sympathy and a summers rest for SG will be good.
There are two teams i support, Liverpool and whoever is playing England!
You should read the Rugby World Cup threads, it's called banter
oh i know the 'banter' thing only too well my son
'Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present.
It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'

We tend to laugh at the fact that whichever England team are competing are dubbed "the golden era", and "if this team can't win it, we never will", "this is our year" blah blah blah, and its all bollocks. You are so far from some of the top sides its untrue.

I don't agree.
You cannot expect to win a competition like the European championships, you can only hope. There is too much talk about England not having the world class players to win a cup, but this is not the case. You need only a core of 3 or 4 top players, but you then need for the squad to play well as a team, and then you need a little luck.
Almost any of the top 10 sides in Europe can win this competition, you only have to look at a couple of the previous winners, Denmark and Greece. Hardly great sides, but very good teams, and on that basis no team is "so far away" from winning it. There is a very fine line and between winning and losing and I sincerely believe that the right manager would've had this team reach the quarters, and then anything can happen.
We obviously have a problem in the Premiership with the amount of foreign players, but this side was also hindered by some terrible injuries. We were then left with players like Crouch, Bent, Defoe, SWP and Bridge. Players who don't get regular games for their respective clubs. The FA needs to address this asap.
The LFC team that won the CL was not a team of great players, but a team that played together well. We also had an element of good luck. The England squad is not that far off.
"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."
I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."
