Well we qualified for that world cup which was no mean feat considering the group we were in.
We played good football and had good tactics under Hoddle, only someone ignorant of the facts would dispute that.
We lost on pens with 10 men after having a perfectly good extra time goal ruled out to a team which was recognised as one of the most talented at the time.
I don't care if the players 9 years ago hated him, he was a good manager, which is the criteria I look for in a manager.

But what has he done since? He has failed at every job since he was sacked by England only someone ignorant of the facts could dispute that. There are players who are still playing for England who detested Hoddle hardly good for moral if they bring him back.

Capello can handle big egos without any problem. He did that at Real, Milan and Roma.

His teams play excellent tactical football, not pretty but effective. England don't have enough good players so they will need an excellent tactical manager.

Capello, Rafa and Lippi are probably the three best tactical managers in the World.

For me Mourinho is a good manager who makes decisive substitutions, but tactically he is poor. I think this can be summed up by his persistent ploy of hoofing huge long balls to a centre half like Robert Huth playing up front the last ten minutes.
