I heard this morning that Fergie was whingeing about the lack of passion from the fans last night. For god's sake it was a Champions league game against Celtic. Anfield would be be rocking in similar circumstances.
Anyway, it got me thinking. OT now holds 73,000 odd. Are they filling it with too many part timers like me.
I get to go to Anfield about once a year, but if people like me were half filling the stadium every week, there would be quite a lot of shouting, but not much singing, because I'm not part of the regular crowd. I'm more in awe of the kop than anything else.
Call me a LFC tourist if you like, but OT must be full of the manc equivalent nowadays.
From what I here, the Emirates stadium is even more dead than Highbury was (that's an acheivement). Again, I reckon it's down to people attending that have not been regulars before, or at least for a very long time.
Makes me think that the 60,000 capacity for the new Anfield is about right.
