Let's laugh at Sam 'Fat F***' Allardyce

Allardyce hits out at his players

Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce is unhappy that his future as manager is in the hands of his under-performing players.
The pressure on Toon boss Allardyce intensified after their dismal 1-0 defeat at Wigan on Boxing Day.

Magpies owner Mike Ashley was among the 5,500 travelling fans and heard the majority voice their frustration at their side's performance.

And when asked if he was happy that his future is in the hands of his players, Allardyce said: "No, not really."

The Magpies boss added: "But these are the players I've got. Some I've bought and some I haven't.

"Some have showed me what they can do, in fact most of them have showed me what they can do on the good side of things.

But too many are showing me what they can do on the bad side of it.

Newcastle, 11th in the table with 26 points from 19 games, managed one shot on target at Wigan.

Ryan Taylor's second-half free-kick was enough to hand the Latics a victory at the JJB Stadium and increase the pressure on Allardyce's future at St James' Park.

Allardyce laid the blame for the defeat squarely at the feet of his team and agreed with the supporters' assessment of the performance.

He added: "If I was them I would be singing what they sang because we're not good enough."

"I know it's not good enough, so it doesn't take much for them to work out it's not good enough. They are not daft.

"The level of form the players have dropped to is unacceptable."

Former Newcastle and England winger Chris Waddle believes the pressure will be eased on Allardyce if the former Bolton boss buys creative players in the January transfer window.

"The fans are frustrated because they like their entertaining football and the football now is not entertaining," Waddle told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"When Kevin Keegan came back to the club he brought a lot of entertaining football and the fans thoroughly enjoyed what they were seeing.

"Now the football is not entertaining. They have not got creative players. On the whole they have not got players who entertain the crowd and the football is very direct at times.

"The fans will stick by them because they are so loyal to the club but I think it will be interesting in January if he (Allardyce) brings in a couple of flair players."

Horrible corrupt **** of a man. Soon to be sacked by Newcastle, no England Job available, it's all go wrong for him.

He has a point though. Their fans are fickle, just as some of ours are.

I think Alladyce has to be given time to create the pattern of play he wants. He has had to overhaul a club with a bad culture of under-achievement and a terrible defense. He has bought in a lot of new players and a different philosophy to the team. He needs to be allowed to bed this in before people start bleating about their lack of creative players.

They have Emre, Duff, Milner, N'Zogbia and Viduka which is a decent core and with a solid goal scorer in Martins they have most of what they need offensively to progress IMO.

All fans are fickle. Losing to Derby, Wigan and reading, scraping a few draws such as against Derby, not to mention being given a football lesson by us and Pompey at St James' isn't going to galvanise support though.

Except for a manager who plays offensively.

Bringing in Smith and Barton says all you need to know about how he wants to play.

I think most people find Fat Sam quite offensive

He has been found out now when the supporters want the team to play attacking football.

Sam don't have a clue how to do that. That's why they are having problems against teams that sit back and let them control the game.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think that is part of his core style but with Bolton he added more flair with Anelka, Diouf and Stelios when he could and relegated the likes of Davies to the bench. I think he wants to get the core of the team playing the style he wants and might then introduce more attacking play. Which seems a sensible way to work IMO.

The problem has been that so far his efforts to shape a new and vaguely solid defense have been pitiful.

Sami is a good passer of the ball but he's probably a bit slow to spot the early pass towards an unmarked player. That is why an Alonso type player, sitting deep and distributing the ball (like a sweeper) is needed in our game.

To be fair to him, it's not easy passing the ball out of defense in the premiership as you're under constant pressure all the time and if the movement isn't good and the passing isn't quick and sharp, teams struggle.

It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

So true, and so utterly irrelevant to the thread
