Possibly. Like others have said though we've had this **** with Anelka vs Diouf already.

yes, we should have kept him, and made a serious attempt to get him every summer since.
He is a quality player who would link so well with any of the top strikes in the world. But **** it, he's gone so lets move on.

I also think that he went for a reasonably high price - not the sort of bargain many people were expecting. I think that there are gambles out there that would have a bigger potential impact on our team and cost less.Originally posted by Parm View Postyes, we should have kept him, and made a serious attempt to get him every summer since.

Still if we had the money I would have liked to have seen us make the move. Although as you say - onwards and upwards."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

This boy genuinely loved it at Liverpool it seems. What a poor call at that time by Houllier
Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka admits some regret at not returning to Liverpool.
Chelsea's new £15million striker could be a pivotal figure in the race for trophies among the Premier League's top four, but he wanted to stay at Anfield after a loan spell there in 2001.
He was never offered the chance, though, and moved to three clubs in search of the big time before arriving back in it at Stamford Bridge from Bolton last week.
Anelka said: "If Liverpool had wanted me to sign I would have and I think I would still be there today.
"If I had stayed at a big club I'd have been a better player than I am now.
"When Didier comes back I will speak with him because he doesn't know about leaving England.
"I did it [leaving Arsenal for Real Madrid in 1999] and I know. The Premier League is the best. I will tell him to stay because he won't find what he has at Chelsea somewhere else.""Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley
