and now it's Spurs again
Woodgate to earn his Spurs
MIDDLESBROUGH and England defender Jonathan Woodgate has held "advanced talks" with Newcastle United and Tottenham about a move from Middlesbrough.
And, after much deliberation, Woodgate is understood to have decided against an £8m return to Tyneside, instead choosing to head to London to sign for Tottenham.
Woodgate was given permission to speak to Spurs and Newcastle, and he will now undergo a medical at White Hart Lane while the two clubs agree a fee.
http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/spo..._his_spurs.phpJust believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If the clubs are willing to meet his transfer fee and wage demands then you can hardly blame the lad and it's not as if it's his fault he's injury prone like.Originally posted by Kilteragh View PostThat ****er is raking in the cash with all these moves and he's hardly kicked a ball in three years.
Any club that signs him deserves him

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Absolutely. Take it while you can get it. It's the club's that sign him I don't understand but he doesn't seem to have any loyalty whatsoever.Originally posted by Marky View PostIf the clubs are willing to meet his transfer fee and wage demands then you can hardly blame the lad and it's not as if it's his fault he's injury prone like. You can agree with me, or you can be wrong.

Which is odd considering he is supposedly at his home town club - which he supported as a boy. I guess he deserves the benefit of the doubt until he actually signs for someone else.Originally posted by Kilteragh View PostAbsolutely. Take it while you can get it. Mmmm. Except he's been granted permission to speak to both Toon and Spurs and has turned down the barcodes.Originally posted by dww View PostI guess he deserves the benefit of the doubt until he actually signs for someone else.
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Boro want rid.You can agree with me, or you can be wrong.

So says the press - I haven't seen any confirmation. I think skepticism is the appropriate response to most press speculation this time of year.Originally posted by Kilteragh View PostMmmm. Except he's been granted permission to speak to both Toon and Spurs and has turned down the barcodes.

Fair enough. Like you say Boro might want rid but if he leaves it will smack of greed.Originally posted by Kilteragh View Post"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I think it's quite feasible Middlesbrough want to sell him, even without assuming they are preparing for relegation:Originally posted by dww View PostFair enough. Like you say Boro might want rid but if he leaves it will smack of greed.- He's been injured again.
- He's (surely) on high wages.
- Wheater has emerged as an apparently decent player.
- They need to strengthen elsewhere.

I think the last one is the potential key as the thing is they bought Woodgate recently and knew to some extent about all the others. They gambled on the strikers they bought in and only Tuncay has in any way repaid Southgate's faith.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostI think it's quite feasible Middlesbrough want to sell him, even without assuming they are preparing for relegation:- He's been injured again.

I think the real problem if they let him go will be leadership at the back. Wheater, Huth and Pogatetz have never really looked like great organisers and the only other experienced head in their team is Boateng who is a diminishing force IMO."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
