Aguero sent off for spitting against Bolton

There's few behaviours in football I detest more than spitting.

This is a player who many on here would like to see in Liverpool colours, yet just yesterday he was shown red for trying to unload his gob on Matt Taylor.

I don't really care if he was provoked or not, there is just no excuse for that

    That's disgusting.

Why spit on Taylor when Diouf was on the pitch?

In all seriousness it is a pretty scummy thing to do though mate.
"My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. I would die for that Liverpool shirt. I think the club loves me and I feel the same, no matter what the situation." - Pepe Reina, Nov '09.

Aguero didn’t spit at official - Aguirre

Aguero didn’t spit at official - Aguirre

Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre claims that Sergio 'Kun' Aguero did not spit at the linesman during the Uefa Cup encounter at Bolton.

Argentinian starlet Aguero entered the pitch in the second half at The Reebok Stadium but could not prevent Los Colchoneros from conceding a 1-0 defeat against Gary Megson’s men on Thursday night.

The spectacular player was sent off for allegedly spitting in the direction of the linesman, but his coach claims that the player just spat on the ground.

Aguirre also says that Rojiblancos can manage to qualify for the last 16 with a good performance at home in the second leg.

“He (Aguero) told me he spit on the ground,” the Mexican boss told Marca.

“You can see on the picture that 'it' was between the player and the linesman.

“With 10 players it was already difficult and the goal happened with a dose of bad luck.

“Nevertheless we are hopeful we can qualify in Madrid. Bolton played their football: Long ball and fouls, contrary to us, who tried to play.

“If during the second leg at El Vicente Calderon we have an English referee we will have opportunities,” he ironically added.
"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
      -- William Blake

Bit of a bad boy eh?

Sign him up Rafa. He could be the new Bellamy/Diouf/Gerbil Cisse figure we have been waiting for.

Do you detest it more than two footed tackles?

and you do know that both times the spanish FA took back the yellow because according to them, the ref got it wrong
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Yeah and the FA's are always right. Like the time the English ones didn't rescind Robbie Keane's card for the non tackle he made!

He dived all those times. You know it and I know it and anyone with eyes knows it. He is a tart and will be much better when he gets it out of his game.

2 footed tackles, diving, spitting, racism - all parts of the game I'd love to see stamped out.

I don't know if I want to put them in some kind of ranking order, although I'm tempted to say racism is the worst.

There's just something about spitting on another player that cause me to lose respect for the spitter instantly. I remember watching Frank Rijkaard gob on Rudi Voller after being sent off in the World Cup, I just thought it was the most ignorant thing I had ever seen at the time.

He dives a lot just like 90% of the players or so in La Liga. It all comes down to how much the ref allow the players to do. Torres for example dived a lot in La Liga.

To use the ref is a part of the game, like it or not.

Granted its a pretty disgusting thing to do but are you really comparing it to tackles that could (and have) end peoples careers?
