    Mascherano

..... was awesome again last night. What a brilliant signing by Rafa. The guy is going to be an Anfield legend.

Won't get many complaints with that in here mate.

I only wish he had $1billion so he could buy us and be our leader.

It was a staggering performance. Patrick Barclay on 5live was talking about it today, saying how its taken english footy, and fans, years to accept the concept of a holding midfield player. He also added that Liverpool have done it long before anyone else, with Didi and now Masher. WE owe Uncle Gerard and Rafa a lot in that repect.

Although the concept is still not as widely accepted as Patrick Barclay would suggest or might like. If you looked at some of the press reports of our 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge, and some of the ratings, Mascher was getting some poor ratings, a 5 or 6 etc with comments on how he rarely got forward, and offered little attacking-wise. Now if that's not missing the point and fundamentally misunderstanding the guy's role in the team then I dont know what is. And take it from me, Mascher was absolutely immense in that game, head and shoulders above every other player on that pitch.

Like I've said, there is no better embodiment of the fans' spirit on the pitch than Javier Mascherano. More than Carragher and Gerrard IMO. That tenacious, never say die attitude, that willingness to give everything to win that ball. He is a monster

Have you noticed how recently he has been getting forward more often, shooting more etc. I think Rafa's planning to make him the piston of the midfield. Adding that to his game would just make him Irreplacable.

And I think Rafa & Eljeficto can pull it off.

He is the best holding midfielder in the world without any doubt at all. That says it all how excellent he is
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
