Very sad news, there is always rivalry in football but at the end of the day Frank is another person who has people he loves and cares about just like every one of us.
Losing his Mother will be a very painfull experience for him and his family and my thoughts go out to all of them.
I am sure everybody attending the game on Wednesday will behave in a respectfull manor and show that although we are divided in loyalty we can still be compasionate enough to be united in respect for their loss.

    R.I.P Pat Lampard.

There is rivalry between the clubs, but all of us are human and can feel for Lampard at this time. I have sympathy for anyone this happens to.

        RIP and YNWA Mrs. Lampard.

I can relate to you on that one Johnny...I lost my mother to breast cancer a year ago at the age of 61, and a day has yet to go by that I don't think about her. Although she had been diagnosed several years before then, I believed she would beat it up until the very end. And indeed, when she got sick the last time it all happened quite suddenly. I'm just grateful that I was able to be at her side during her final days.

I certainly know what Frank's going through...I don't think many people expect to lose their mother while still a young man themselves, and I wish him the best in this undoubtedly difficult time in his life.

YNWA to Johnny H, all the other posters on this thread and anyone else I have passing interest in who have lost someone important in their life.

As for Frank and his mum,

Poor FF. As it's been said, some things are far more important even than footy.

Hundreds, no thousands of people lose loved ones every day. What's the big deal about a wealthy self-sufficient 30 year old man with his own family losing his mother? Why is that more important than all the other deaths that happen every day? Why is that deserving of a thread on a Liverpool fan forum?

Someone has said on YNWA that Ryan Babel is distraught over his best friend who was on active duty in the Middle East and has lost a leg after stepping on a land mine. The lad's personal distress over his mate's disability is far more deserving of a thread on Est than this, IMO.

And am I not allowed to come in to a thread to voice my opinion on the sentiment being made in it, whether it be in disagreement with that sentiment or otherwise?

So I repeat, Frank and his mum . That is for Chelsea fans to lament, not us. IMO.

I see where your coming from, but honestly fella, some things are just better left unsaid. Yes Lampard will be well supported, more so than many thousands who must face tragedy like this alone, or as good as, struggling even to pay for the burial, but all that aside, Lampards grief will be as painful as anyones.

PS, That news about Babel's friend, i'm surprised actually that no one has posted about it before. Sad, he was i expect very fit & athletic, it will be hard for him. Babel will do what he can for his mate i'm sure.

I make no apologies for the sentiments underlying my posts on this issue. The only thing I apologise for is the use of the :whatever: smiley. I accept its use in a thread about someone's passing is inappropriate and could be misconstrued. It was only intended to convey my feelings of indifference to this matter and not in any derogatory sense. That aside, I do not consider my views on this to be offensive. I am simply indifferent to Lampard's loss and grief and that is the view I am trying to express. It's sad when anyone dies, but I reiterate, why is Frank's mum deserving of a thread and Frank deserving of our sympathy? My answer is I do not consider that he is.

As for Babel, apparently he is devestated and has flown back to Holland to see his mate.

Some of the posts on this thread are nothing short of disgusting. We pride ourselves on being the most knowledgable and respectful fans in game. The type that clap the opposition goalkeeper when they come to the kop end and give visiting teams applause for a good goal or move.

What about all the different scarfs tied to the Shankly gates after Hillsborough, the first one was from another club. We want respect for things like that but don't expect to show basic human respect for another professional footballer?

Pro footballer give up a lot to make it in the game and few do. They manage to do this thanks to loved ones. How many successful sports people do you hear about that say that they owe everything to their parents.

Yes, Fat Frank is a cunt and I really hope he is sat crying on the turf on Wednesday because we have dumped him out of the CL. But, seriously, his mother deserves a little respect.

                                RIP Pat.
