      Cheers dude

I really enjoyed that game, some excellent football in general, and it was great to see the Dutch actually playing like a team for the first time in as long as I can remember.

Kuyt was excellent, and Sneijder and Van Der Vaart really are proper footballers.

Well Stuggart were defending champions this season. From what I have seen the standard in the German league has become a lot more competitive.

Could it possibly be that one bad game doesn't make him a **** player? Heaven forfend. the whole Italian team looked a bit off key today - Toni, like RvN, requires service - he is good at what he does but won't affect the flow of a game.

What a ****in game that was. Excellent stuff. Dutch proved me wrong tonight but my god the Italians were complete ****. The Milan midfield was awful
Dirk Kuyt was brilliant. The morons who continue to slag him deserve to be chased with sticks and pounded till they apologize
                Kuyt

Only thing is i dont think the dutch will be able to produce that kind of performance enough to win the tournament. That defensive line was not tested enough tonight. If they can get RVP and Robben fully fit then they have a chance but i think defensive weaknesses will show in the coming weeks

Is anyone else a new fan of RVN?

Enough time has passed from his Castle Greyskull days now, and I can't help but admire him for his consistent goal-hanging ways.

I'd love to see him in the proper Red shirt alongside Torres.

My son Foster is a fan of soccer. He was a goaltender. His brother was a defenseman.

Yep i'm a big fan of the Horse, he's a brilliant striker. World class.
Not only is his finishing top class, he leads the line very well, draws fouls and holds it up.
All round he's a class act.

Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy's opening goal in the win over Italy was legitimate, says Premier League referees' chief Keith Hackett.

Van Nistelrooy looked yards offside when he prodded home from close range.

But it appears he was played onside by defender Christian Panucci, who was lying off the pitch.

"The fact is the assistant was correct; the defender who slid off the field is still regarded as active," Hackett told BBC Sport.

"Christian Panucci went off through contact with his own goalkeeper (Gianluigi) Buffon. He is still considered part of the game."

Uefa general secretary David Taylor said at a media briefing on Tuesday that the officials had made the right decision.

He told a news conference: "There is a lack of understanding as to why this particular goal was awarded. In fact some television commentators have insisted the goal was clearly offside, but that is not the case.

"The player was not offside because in addition to the goalkeeper there was another Italian player in front of the goalscorer. Even though he had fallen off the pitch his position was still relevant for the purposes of the offside law."

Van Nistelrooy stuck out a leg to poke home a Giovanni van Bronckhorst shot, after Italy had initially cleared the ball.

Italy's players were furious with the decision and even the Dutch delayed their celebrations until they were sure the goal had been given.

Italy striker Luca Toni, who was booked for protesting the goal, said: "I looked at the replay during the match and it looked to me as if it was offside.

After the game Netherlands forward Dirk Kuyt admitted he was waiting for the goal to be chalked off for offside.

But Hackett's comments back up the chairman of Austria's refereeing commission Gerhard Kapl, who said the decision was "100% correct".
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Thats a crazy decision, How can you be active if you are lying on the floor off the pitch?

I think it's a good rule, a correct one, an attacking side shouldn't lose an advantage in circumstances like this.
