Cristiano Ronaldo could make a definitive step in forcing his exit from Manchester United by putting himself on the transfer list. (Spanish sports paper Marca, 0815 BST)
Cristiano Ronaldo appears to have made up his mind to leave Manchester United and fulfil his "dream" of joining Real Madrid. The Portugal international has informed his agent, Jorge Mendes, that he wants to play in Spain and his decision has already been outlined to Madrid, encouraging them to step up their attempts to prise him from Old Trafford.
graham hunter was on newstalk (irish radio) this morning and said that ronaldo has been in constant contact with some guy at real who was his fitness trainer at utd - sussing out the situation at madrid, complaining about the set up at utd and saying that he is unhappy there...
I don't think the guy can be considered replaceable. There is no way they can find another 40+ goal a season striker let alone midfielder, they already have a strong squad and it is the special parts that they need to retain and they just might lose their crown jewel

I don't think they are really anything 'special' without him in the side. They struggle to even create when he is on the bench. In saying that, they have a very good core of players surrounding him like Rooney who is much maligned on these forums, but is a superb link-man up-front. Add that to £50m+ of transfer expenditure off the back of Ronaldo's exit and I think the situation could come full circle. Imagine the likes of Benzema arriving at Man U

can't understand how people don't rate rooney. busts his bollox a lot of the time and has moments of control, movement, non-flash/stepover trickery and shooting that are absolutely sublime. maybe questions about his temperament but he's a one in a billion talent.
might be a few united players glad to see the back of ronaldo as well.

In today’s Manchester Evening News, each local team’s squad has been rated individually, out of ten, by their respective correspondents.
The United writer gave Rooney a lukewarm write-up and a mark of 7/10 – belying his inclusion in various teams of the season and claims that he’s had a ‘wonderful season’.
