He just scored a hat trick in the league, is very young and 12 months back pretty much everyone agreed that he has the potential to be a world beater. For 6 mill it is an absolute bargain. Under a good boss, which Ramos undoubtedly is, he will develop, get more games and be worth 20 mill before we know it. Bet you. ****s sake, Bentley is apparently worth that................

I'm simply not sure we are in a position to spend that money on a young player whose attitude has been questioned. He may have great talent but without a commitment to improve and adapt he will struggle to make it in the EPL. From what I have heard (admittedly all rumours) it is not his talent but his application that make Barcelona think of selling him.

I also find it odd that most people really want us to sign top players to add to the first team and then are keen on a move for a young player of potential who has question marks over his mentality. We have seen that Rafa likes to judge players on their combined attitude and ability, which in my opinion is the correct way to proceed.

The fact is everyone gets excited by young players because of internet rumours as much as any knowledge of the player. I would be the first to admit that I haven't seen anything of dos Santos and maybe he is good enough for the risk to be worth while but I do think that £6m at this stage of our development is not a risk that should be taken lightly on a young player.
