He looks like **** - looks like he needs long term help or he is not going to make it.

I don't think he'll make it. He'll die young either as a result of alcohol abuse of some related physical issue. It seems inevitable. I know it's horrible and premature saying that but I'd imagine we'd all be astounded if Gazza was alive in ten years, not to talk of reaching normal life expectancy or even anywhere near that.

And I wonder why that is? Why can't he quit? I assume he has some underlying mental illness issues but which came first? Or is he just a catastrophic perfect storm of genius (maybe - talented obviously), crap upbringing, predisposition to addiction and the luck to be able to financially support it?

All the money in football and no one is stepping up to help him? Or is he refusing the help? Its been shown that addicts can turn their lives around, they have to want to do it. But they also need the people in their lives to show them a reason too.

I think there's been a fair bit of money given to him to go to rehab before hasn't there? Gary Lineker being quite a big giver to him.

Unfortunately I think Gazza is just ****ed, he's gonna be dead soon and it's going to be such a waste, and sad that no one will be suprised.

I just watched 'The Resurrection of Jake the Snake' on Netflix and its a really similar situation. Drunk himself to oblivion, lots of drugs, family and friends deserting him. If someone like that can be brought back from the brink. I like to hope that Gazza can too.

Maybe its not about money, but some affection and actions to back up the words?

Didn't Gerrard give some money to help with his rehab,I do think there has been help from his former teammates I just think he is to far gone.
