Apparently, Fergie in interview on TV tonight somewhere, going on about how he could have saved Gazza from his current situation if he'd have signed for Manure instead of Spurs or someother load of similar bollocks.

I know he is a wife beater and an alcholic, but my memories of him will always be circa 1990/91 when I was 12/13 and Gazza wa just a phenomanol player, no injuries and no demons developed. Just a brillaint player. Sad to see him in this state, I wonder if the FA had offered any sort of help to him. I have heard he took not being in football as a real blow and other players who retire must surely have had similar problems (although maybe not as bad as gazza)

It brings about the whole debate about what the PFA do to help with players who leave the game. In my opinion, players have too much money and too much spare time and not enough brains to keep themselves active in their lives. The PFA should ensure that players have enough skills to have a proper job whether its in the game or out in order for them to not become like Gazza which is a shame because when he talks about football, he seems very knowledgeable and passionate.

the guy is a wife beating drunk, just like Best. But Britain loves a loser don't we?

Forget about him taking an injunction against his ex wife's book getting serialised. Forget the drunken beatings, forget the embarrassment he now is. Just like George.

He's had enough money and friends and family to get help, he's just chosen not to. Why should Spurs or the PFA have a responsibility to a former employee? If I retire, get pissed and beat up the missus, should my employer and union have to sort my sorry ass out? No.

                  **** off Gazza.

No one to blame but himself, but its sad to see such a talented player go off the rails so badly.

                            FFS, how ****ing ignorant.

The bloke is mentally ill and has been mentally ill since he watched his best mate get killed when they were both seven years old.

Granted he's made bad mistakes - I can only assume the holier-than-thou ****ers in this thread queuing up to condemn Gascoigne have never ****ed anything up in their perfect lives.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Absolutely. Making judgements on people who have psychiatric problems is very ignorant, especially considering the only things we know about him are what the ****sack of a media have spoon fed to us.

How do we know that he hasn't tried hard to turn a corner but just found things too much for him? Oh yeah because the S*n and Star have told us he deserves it all for the mistakes he's made.
