Bit arrogant, isn't it?Originally posted by looprevil View PostNo - Muslims believe everyone is born a Muslim, so in that respect it is a 'reversion'.
BTW not sure that Henry is a Muslim - knew about the others though.
I think I'll decide if I was born a Muslim or not thanks very much.

In actual fact, if I ever did 'convert' to Islam, in hindsight, I imagine I would consider that I had 'reverted' after all.Originally posted by looprevil View Post
I am a Muslim but I tend to refer to 'reverts' as converts.
Does that make sense? It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

In no way was the original post racist.Originally posted by slimbimjim View PostI don't see the point of this thread. Surely it's 'racist' to point them out as if they are inferior and we should applaud them for having a go?I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do best, isn't very nice

I agree that it is ridiculous to make a point about players religion etc etc. It does not matter what ethnicity, religion they are from unless there is an interesting story behind it - all that matters is how good they play really.
However, in this instance there is an interesting story behind it - the fact that there are possibly up to 8 Muslims in the French squad makes the original post interesting given France's recent social problems. IMO of course.

I see in a man what he offers in a social and human context. Being muslim, buddhist, catholic or he could be Purple Aki in that sense, I don't care. There are a lot of people who aren't religious and who are great great people.Originally posted by looprevil View PostI agree that it is ridiculous to make a point about players religion etc etc. It does not matter what ethnicity, religion they are from unless there is an interesting story behind it - all that matters is how good they play really.
