Arsenal have landed France international Samir Nasri on a four-year deal from Ligue 1 side Marseille, according to Sky Sports News.
It had been widely reported that The Gunners were tracking the creative midfielder ahead of the 2008/09 season.
And Sky Sports News has revealed that manager Arsene Wenger has secured his man for a fee of €20million (£15.8million).
The 20-year-old becomes manager Wenger's second capture of the summer following teenager Aaron Ramsey's switch from Cardiff City.
The transfer of Nasri is expected to spell the end for unsettled midfielder Alexander Hleb, amid rumoured interest from Barcelona and Internazionale.---------------------------------------------------

Nasri is pure class and will be one of the best players in the premier league. To make a statement like that just tells me that you have never watched the French league or seen him play.

Seems like a good deal for Arsenal, and also highlights how much better value foreigners seem to be compared to British players, if he were English you'd probably be talking £25mThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

You can't necessarily judge a player's quality on the team you sign him from. Remind me where Nasri is being signed from and from what league? I'd say that both Villa's and Keane's current teams are better than Marseille.Originally posted by Shanks007 View PostYeah, we'd have probably paid about 25mill for him though and thrown in Yossi or sumfink.
Wenger gets away with paying 15 mill for a decent French International,
while we are getting bummed over a barrel for two premiership players who aren't even playing in the top 3.

Plus, you say Nasri is a decent French international, well he wasn't exactly a starter in the Euros, whereas currently both Barry and Keane are regular starters for their international teams.
The main problem is the cost of buying British players, rather than anything to do with the differences between how us and Arsenal conduct our transfers.
