Seems that way doesn't it? He's definately doin' it the patient way. I reckon he could be only one 20 goal season in La Liga away from being a 15M+ player.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

He will now have a chance to prove himself on the highest stage again as Atletico have qualified for the Champions League after fourteen years in the wilderness.

But that's not what we are saying Matt. The point is that he appears to be blossoming into a very good player, hence had we persevered with him, it could be us reaping the rewards.

I think he suited the Spanish game, he never looked like being that player when he played in the prem imo.

Know what you mean. I think someone mentioned earlier about him drastically bulking up - I guess that could have possible helped in the prem.

I'm not sure about that - he clearly needed a first team run and he wasn't physically ready to do that in the PL let alone good enough for us. I thought he had promise but was never going to progress with us. If we did get a sell on clause then I think the deal has worked out best for everyone. If not I still think we did the right thing selling him (but we should have got a sell on clause included).

For what its worth I liked the guy as well, he always seemed up for it and I admire that.

                          Pongolle joins Sporting

Sporting have signed French striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle on a 3-1/2-year contract from Atletico Madrid for 6.5 million euros ($9.36 million) the Portuguese club said on Monday.

In a statement, Sporting added that Atletico could receive up to a further 1 million euros depending on the player's performances.

The 25-year-old former Liverpool player joined Atletico from Recreativo Huelva in July 2008 and went on to play 37 matches for the Madrid club, coming off the bench in most of them, with five goals.

Sporting are fifth in the Portuguese Premier League, 12 points adrift of leaders Benfica and Braga. Their top goalscorer Liedson is expected to be out until late January with a knee injury.

If he was still here he would be getting minutes every week, no doubt about that.

Exciting little impact player. I was a big fan.
