Proper Ronaldo's career going belly up

Shame, such a fantastic player and then he let it go.
OK he got injured, but still should not let himself go like that, the talent and potential he had was more than C.Ronaldo or Torres have right now.
Saddens me when people mention him and the topic of his weight etc are the first things people talk about. If he had stuck to his "regime" we could have been talking about him for his outstanding play.

i think everyone is being a bit harsh imo - maybe it's becuase i'm a big fan of ronaldo.
As mentioned, this fella burst onto the scene as a teenager, made his debut for brazil in 1994 - 14 years ago!!! he has played at the highest level his whole career, and been there done that, achieved everything - and he has suffered some horrific injuries along the way, injuries that have finished most careers!
He has obv struggled with fitness for the last few years, plus he has had a few personal issues, the breakdown before the world cup final etc. He wasn't fit and should never have played when he last got injured for Ac, but typically like what has happened throughout his career, a few injections and he's thrown out on to the pitch, and pop he's knees gone..again.
lay off the guy - he's one of the greatest players off all time - if he want's to eat pies, get pissed and hook up with transvestite prositutes for orgies - then fair play to him!

Anyway I dont think people are being too harsh, we are all allowed to mock a footballer carrying a bit of extra weight aren't we? Makes us feel better about our own beer bellys. (Not that I have one, I was thinking about Shaggy!

- fair enough - so it's more a case of people being jealous of his achievements, living the dream and now having a fall from grace and it's time to stick the boot in!
In that case the,
****ing knobhead, what a waste, you fat ******* ronaldo!

Good on him is what I say. He's probably just accepted he won't play again and for the first time in 15-20 years can really let his hair down.
As long as he gets it out of his system and doesn't go the way of Maradonna why are people so scathing of him? Looks like he's enjoying himself to me."My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. I would die for that Liverpool shirt. I think the club loves me and I feel the same, no matter what the situation." - Pepe Reina, Nov '09.
