I would imagine he is talking about match attendance (otherwise surely it would be impossible to measure), but even then it is a staggering claim

I find it hard to believe that the second most watched club, taking it as it's phrased, most watched, would be Spurs, talking Attendance & Televised games, as you say hard to measure accurately.

So yes he must mean fans through the turn-styles, and as you say it's still an amazing claim, but maybe to do with big crowds in the really old days, when stadia held 100,000 or more, and Spurs being a London club would have big numbers in those days.

          Still sound's wrong though.

Hi All...I had heard it a few years back but didn't take much heed. Then, during a debate with a geezer at work over the barcodes, I discovered Manure were top and Spurs second.

That's league attendances since the football league began until I think about 2006.

The Newcastle debate was that I said I remembered them getting 6000 for a home game and he didn't believe me.
When I checked, 1981, their AVERAGE attendance was just over 6000!

I'll see what I can find.

No doubt the rest are catching up as we can only accommodate 38 at the lane.

Thought so. Love those old clips/pictures of fans at matches back then, every one...almost to a man....wearing a flat cap, marvellous, all packed in tight, swaying like the living mass they were.

Some great footage of those days still to be seen.

Yeah Red....even those not from Yorkshire wearing them.!

I saw this on the Spurs board and thought you might find it funny!

Don't read the papers today. Keane in a Liverpool shirt with a cheesy grin, Robbo in a Blackurn shirt in the saddest forced smile you've ever seen.

And pictures of Modric, Two Saints and Gomes - great signings but three of the ugliest players since Beardsley, Dowie and that ginger lad who plays for Reading

                  REPLY...
Do you mind? Kitson is not only a mate of a mate, but an avid Spurs fan. If you want to poke fun at the fuglies, go for Tony Adams and Nigel Winterburn..

Besides, I'm not being a bit woopsee trousers or anything, but I don't think Dos Santos is the ugliest player we've ever had..

                    What about Man u:

                    Tevez
                    Rooney
                    Scholes
                    Fletcher
                    Nevel

                    Now there are some Fuglies!

And don't forget the studmuffin Rio!

Are Manure the UGLIEST team in the world?

We tap him up, you get pissed off but quite like the idea of cashing in, you sell making out you were forced to do so and to play along with the game we make a donation to your charity whilst re-inforcing the fact that your club didn't want to let go of this player. It's so obvious it is painful and really quite a piss take by the spurs board. I wonder how much the "donation" was
                      about 20.3 millwasnt it?

I actually have an apology from the admin on the Spurs board due to the stick I got from saying we would sell Keane when Ramos took over.

I just had the feeling Ramos had other plans for a different, more continental style than Robbie would fit into. I think this was on the cards from then.

The midfield two of Spurs must improve or if I were Ramos, I would get rid of them. In defence, King can't play two games in a week because he has arthritis Woodgate can't be trusted to last a season. I think it will take another season for Spurs to challenge Arsenal for the fourth spot.

Lucky for you we came in then eh.

                              Although.

Juande Ramos had apparently been anxious to keep Keane at the club and last night his assistant, Gus Poyet observed: "It's difficult to take because Robbie was everything to Spurs and we thought he would be here for a long time."
