I am actually excited....very excited about the new season!

I always disliked Bentley when he was at the Gooners for obvious reasons. Then, I really tore into him over his refusal to play for the U21 England side at the Euro 's.

However...I have always admired him and now!!!!!!!!! HE PLAYS FOR US.

Don't get me wrong, alone, he won't make a team great but with Modric, class in the great Spurs midfielf tradition, Dos Santos starting really confidently and the prospect of....Well, Who knows who else is coming to the lane!

If, as is being reported, Arshavin and Pavlychenko come too...(I know, jumoing the gun) but IF they do....Wow.
We may be fighting for a top four place.

The glue that makes it all stick for me is Ramos. He is dedicated, quietly gets on with the job and has 'winner' written all over him. Somethhing we haven't had since Billy Nick!

I know, I should save this for the Spurs site but....ah well. You have me for the season so let me indulge before it all goes tits up!

As I mentioned in another thread, I think Ramos will do well at Spurs - to win something in your first season is a good sign. I think they could push the Goons for fourth this season

Spurs will do better than last season but they'll still be more than ten points off 4th spot IMO. Maybe a cup win there though.

Unfortunately I think Spurs will continue to flatter to deceive. Cannot put my finger on it but there is just something missing, and without Keane and possibly Berbatov the attack is significantly weakened. Even if they sign Arshavin and/or Pavlyuchenko who is to say they will settle in the team/league?

I am sure they will play well at times as a team, as they always do, but the big question mark is maintaining the right level of consistency to genuinely challenge the top 4.

FWIW, I think White Hart Lane is a lovely stadium and really enjoy going (except for the marathon walk from the station!!!)

Mmm...I can see quite a few weaknesses there when it's on paper. At the lane, we have our doubts about the long term benefits of Lennon and had we sold him this summer, we wouldn't have been crying.

I agree Shaggy. Particularly Zakora. But Jenas always seems to flatter to deceive. He does something well now and again, but nothing out of the ordinary, and all around me seem to wax lyrical about him. Press especially. However, we don't have much else at the moment and I think he will mature this season and hopefully take the bull by the horns.

With King injured for 2 3rds of each season and Keano gone....somewhere, can't remember where exactly, I think Jenas will suddenly find he is one of the more established players at the club.

I think, hopefullt this season, he will take on the mantle King has, Campbell used to have (Spit...scum...) and Hoddle before him.

Akin to the role Terry has at the chav house.

Jenas may well find he is Mr Tottenham this season and respond.

Im glad you did that as in my head I was thinking Spurs were going to challenge for the title never mind 4th! Ha ha ha after seeing the team on paper (well, you know what i mean) I am confident that you will struggle for 5th. Still, fair play to Ramos and the Board, at least you are trying to compete in difficult circumstances. You have made some cracking signings this summer.
