It has to be said no matter what who they buy fair play to the Spurs owners/chairman/the rest of it for putting the Bale money straight back into the team, they could have very easily pocketed it.

Also they've spent it before they sold him. A really good summer for them. Let's hope they all flop.

Don't get Eriksen for them at all. I'm not sure he's much of an upgrade on Sigurdsson right now, though he may be in time.

Plenty of people were gutted that they got Holtby. Hasn't worked out very well for them or him though.

Hopefully this summer's signings go the same way.

Will be really worried if they sign another top defender as well...so expect a bid from spurs for sakho or whoever else we go for

They're about to sign that Romanian centre half Chichires for about £7m. Meant to be a ball playing centre half.

Tottenham want Manchester United's Javier Hernandez as their transfer-happy summer rolls on
                            28 Aug 2013 22:31
Champions have been approached by the Londoners but rate the striker at DOUBLE the amount Spurs would like to pay

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is making a shock move for Manchester United's Mexican goal machine Javier Hernandez - but will have to pay £15million.

Big-spending Spurs have approached the Premier League champions about the little striker, who seemingly cannot get close to winning a regular spot in manager David Moyes' No.1 side.

Villas-Boas knows he needs a new finisher and there are few better than the man known as Chicharito, whose record is excellent despite his frequent spells out of United's starting XI.

Spurs could sell Jermain Defoe before the window shuts - the England striker is being chased by several clubs, who are ready to bid if they encouraged.

Hernandez would be a more-than-adequate replacement and would fit in with their style, and help ease the demands of a busy season at home and abroad.

United are not pushing out the Mexico international, who has never given them any trouble, but a sizeable bid may see his spell at Old Trafford end.

Spurs, chacteristically, would like to drive a hard bargain and land Hernandez for around £7m-£8m, but the asking price is double that and will stay that way.

Moyes needs a quick decision on the 25-year-old, as he would have to assess whether he needs an extra striker himself - a squad man happy to make only a handful of appearances - to replace Hernandez.

It's getting bonkers now, unless they are planning on fielding 11 attacking midfielders at once then there's going to be some glum faces down there. It'll be good watching how some of the new egos faces cope
