The agent of Dimitar Berbatov has claimed that Tottenham made a late deadline day bid to take the striker back to White Hart Lane, before he linked up with Fulham.
"We were in touch with Tottenham at the last moment," said Emil Danchev sky
Is it me or is AVB repeating .. There are several players there who it seems were told they were surplus to requirements but having been unable to get them out of the door he is now stuck with and he will have to juggle a squad with some very unhappy players I imagine. He seems hell bent on ripping it up and starting from scratch and asking for the fans to be patient while he rebuilds. No disrespect to Spurs fans but I very much doubt if they will be patient with him
The Hugo Lloris transfer is the funniest one of all. AVB didn't ask for him, Levy signed him without any input from AVB. And now the France number one is sitting as back up goalie to a 41 year old yank

Random, but Levy reminds me of Theo from Dragons Den for some reason.

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has warned goalkeeper Hugo Lloris not to expect an instant call-up if first-choice Brad Friedel has a bad game.
France captain Lloris was signed from Lyon for £8m with the expectation he would be the club's first choice.
But the 25-year-old has played just once - in the Europa League draw with Lazio on
"We have made Hugo aware that whenever Brad has a bad game we won't drop him," Villas-Boas said.
Friedel, 41, made a number of impressive saves in Tottenham's 2-1 win over QPR on Sunday and is likely to start at Manchester United next weekend.
That will prolong Lloris' spell out of the team, a situation that has been met with incredulity in France.
"These things have to be taken very carefully," Villas-Boas said.
"We don't doubt Hugo's dimension and talent but at the moment we are paying respect to a player who is performing very well.
"At the right time we will think about it and Hugo is an extremely good professional.
"He wants to come back into the team but he is competing for the jersey and he will get his chance very soon."
Quite how Spurs got him I don't know - I can only imagine that he was told he'd be #1 otherwise I couldn't see a first choice international keeper and captain being happy to sit on the bench.
Leaving Lyon for Spurs was a totally sideways move.
He'll be putting in a transfer request come January
He was always a Levy signing, probably promised him the earth when he signed but dropping Brad when he's in such good form would be crazy on AVB's part
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.
