Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom- 2 years 1year 0.5 years

****ing hell. I'd rather do things the way we did and upgrade the stadium gradually rather than buckle the club for a stadium we cant even use.

No wonder Pochettino is grumpy, no money in Jan for sure.

It is getting a bit farcical now. They've not just missed the deadline, they are nowhere near it, and still no announcement of a 'move in' date... which suggests a lack of confidence in when that day may actually be.

I wonder what the rent on Wembley is per match?

They should be made to play at Wembley all season, they've quite blatantly lied about the whole stadium stuff. And didn't Scuadmore once say you can't play like 10 games at one venue then 9 at another?

Regardless, they may have some prettier seats and glass from 2019 onwards but they've been a nothing club my whole life and will continue to be for the rest of it.

In better news for them they just signed Alli to a five year deal at 90k a week. That'll secure plenty of time to strip thay asset.

That seems a pretty low wage by footballs standard in this current market

The stadium does look pretty finished - to a point where it looks like it could host matches. Exterior cladding is ongoing, but that's largely cosmetic. The seats are in.

The speculation around the safety systems not being up to the job and consequently having to be ripped out and reinstalled from scratch does seem to tally with the lack of visibility even Spurs have on their own completion date. There must be a hell of a lot of re-work, if not re-design.

Just sounds like a monumental **** up. And a punishingly expensive one.

I have some sympathy with the view that all games should be played in one stadium, but I don't think they blatantly lied about much myself. The tone of the press releases is a mixture of acute embarrassment, incredulity and cluelessness. And this from what many think to be one of the more clued up chairmen in sport.

I believe they haven't sold all the exec boxes and corporate take up leading them to discount which after being made public makes them discount the initial sales. Project is circa around GBP1b so expect the debt to increase further.

Most contractors insure themselves for delays, and contract pricing will allow for delay payments to Spuds but i doubt it would be anywhere near tens of millions.

Tottenham stadium: Spurs granted extension to stay at Wembley

Spurs were due to move into their new White Hart Lane stadium in September but the project has suffered a number of construction delays.

The club initially agreed to continue playing at Wembley until the end of the year.

They can now play there indefinitely but with a reduced capacity of 51,000.

A planning application to Brent Council is required to increase the capacity to 62,000 with "additional limited exceptions" at 90,000.

The council had granted special dispensation to allow Tottenham to play the entire 2017-18 season at Wembley at full capacity.

The club had hoped to be in their new 62,062-seater stadium by the start of the current campaign. During the summer, this was changed to the 15 September meeting with Liverpool.

Just over a month before that game, Tottenham said that because of "issues with the critical safety systems" their move had been delayed. On 26 October, they confirmed all remaining games in 2018 would be played at Wembley, with chairman Daniel Levy saying it was still not possible to "confirm an exact opening date and fixture".

Tottenham warned over Champions League stadium advert
Now that deadline has been extended indefinitely, with the stadium not expected to open until January 2019 at the earliest. The club say they will provide a further update on the stadium's progress in December.

Tottenham's next match at Wembley is against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday, November 24. That will be the final game, pending any further appeal to Brent Council, that Spurs will be allowed to use the stadium at its full capacity.
                          Oh I don't know.

If they get top 4 then it will be a success as they'll be able to host CL games in their new stadium.

It would be funny as **** if they didn't though!
