Essien's a brilliant player, no doubt. World class in fact - at what he does.

When it comes to being a 'complete' player though, he's not in Gerrard's ballpark.

Great player and all - might actually help them sort their midfield out though

Never nice to see a player injured but find it hard to have to much sympathy after his horror tackle on Didi.

Still, he is a decent player

Playing right back and centre back didn't help

I actually like Essien, so hope he has a speedy recovery. Awesome player.

Essien could play up front, and he still wouldnt score 20 goals in a season.

**** him, Sorry to be so blunt but he's Chav Scum and whilst I used to think he would have been a decent signing for us, I now do not give two ****s whether he comes back the same player or not....

**** him and Chelsea, Just as the would say the same about Gerrard and Torres etc...
On awaiting Everton's arrival for a derby game at Anfield, Bill Shankly gave a box of toilet rolls to the doorman and said: "Give them these when they arrive – they'll need them!"

What you're basically saying is that you/we are no better than them, then.

                    Unlucky for them.
Lucky for the rest of us.
                    End of.

When do we play the Chavs?

He's one of the best players in the league. They will miss him, which is nice.
