Yep totally agree, Carvalho is the best centre back in the premiership and he brings the best out of Terry.

I've never heard Hansen say that, but Torres is better than all 3 of them by far. They probably pair up better than Torres and any other of our strikers though.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostHansen also rates Torres miles higher than Rooney, Berbatov or Tevez.
Do you find that odd too, or do you agree with him?

Think he means that whilst Torres > Berbatov, Rooney etc...Originally posted by Ben Tover View Post
What?

There was an interesting stat doing the rounds recently that Chelsea actually gained slightly fewer points when Terry played last season than when he didn't (I'm sure that it was affected by his injury and him being rushed back for big games but the next point remains valid
) whereas they got more with Carvalho in the team. I think that fact that Chelsea have two leaders in defense has been a big part of their success in the last few years.
I think that individual talent in centrebacks is only worth so much (particularly in the case of Ferdinand) what is key is the partnership. Ferdinand and Terry are both very, very good players but really shine in the respective partnerships they have at club level and haven't replicated that form on the international stage very often."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Scholes is injured, out for 6 to 8 weeks, which means about 2 or 3 in reality, but good all the same.
