Hate Utd with a passion but I have to say I do have a soft spot for Rio Ferdinand.

Have met Rio before and he is a top top bloke, and I have to say he was simply imperious yesterday. There is no equal in world football right now IMO in his position.

An incredible player and I know for sure that he would have loved to join us if we had gone in for him when he joined Leeds. Definitely one that got away.

He is a really nice guy. Very easy going and good for a laugh.

When he was younger he used to go to Liverpool away games in London and we were his preferred team.

He has blossomed into a real class act on the pitch no question.

Probably not my united supporting friend. Some of the best defenders in the world are actually playing in the premiership. If you think Ferdinand is the best defender, then Carragher must have been the best defender in the world by far 2/3 years ago.

He's just in good form at the moment and none moreso than the likes of Carvalho and our Carragher. Actually I'm gonna throw Skrtel into that as I think he is an amazing defender. Defenders tend to get more recognition when teams are struggling to score goals but at the same time are not conceding as many. And that's true of United at the moment.
