Certain foods, drinks and activity makes sleeping harder and sometimes sleeping less effective.

And as I say, end of day, with so much money at stake if there's even a small chance it will help why the heck not? Every little bit helps.

A player more alert stopping 1 goal or scoring 1 that he'd have otherwise missed can make a massive difference.
I've got two kids of my own so I know what that's all about

Hot choclate works for me. Do try it some time . I guarantee it
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Doesn't for me unfortunately. It's usually when I'm particularly busy at work and struggle to switch off, all I can do is stay up until I can no longer stay awake.

I can only imagine what it's like when you've just had a bad game where you made a few mistakes and you're coming up to the game that can make or break your season, and it's live on TV, and you know fans will be giving you gip etc...

It would be fairly stressful and assistance in overcoming the stress and sleeping would be worthwhile.

Yes but if it was labelled "educating players about how to maximise the effectiveness of their rest periods" then it might sound a bit less New Age and rather more "sports science-y".
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Alcohol can stop you going into a dream state. You sleep long and heavily but it's not good quality fully restive sleep.

So maybe the sleep expert could be of help
