I dunno. I tell myself that I don't care, but come the next WC I'm sure I'll be booking annual leave and getting up at 5am to watch us play whilst drinking beer and shiverring.

I do care deep down, a lot, just too many lightweight underperformances have made me try to stop caring.

However, if I could choose between us winning the PL and England winning the WC I'll take the PL every time. In a heartbeat.

Internationally I'm more a fan of the rugby team anyways. I'll take an average team who has the balls to play way beyond their ability any day. If our footy players had the same attitude we'd have won a few WC's by now.

Internationally they're the true pride of England these days

as long as i can remember i have been a liverpool fan.

being from donegal GAA is big and i would care more about them than ireland matches.

nowadays i flick round international matches and sky sports in the hope that no liverpool player gets injured and thats about all i care about.

fair enough if ireland are playing i would shout for them but when they lose i dont really care.

when liverpool lose it breaks my heart and i am in a bad mood pretty much until the next win. when we play united i cant even sleep the night before and then cant eat the next morning and can hardly watch the game.

this year i got ex****intremely drunk after we beat them
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

I have no interest in the rugby team whatsoever. Their win in 2003 was impressively proficient rather than enthralling and the subsequent media hype was desperate.

The British cycling team is much more, um, "emproudening". Truly the best in the world, by some margin, thanks to a brilliant development programme.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

To be honest, I'd choose us winning a corner over England winning the World Cup.

Why? It'd only hit the first man.

I was far more inspired by their loss in the final in 07. Sure, they lost, but it was a much weaker side, and to take that team to the final was an amazing achievement based on good old fashioned grit.

Missing from far too many of our sporting teams these days.

OK, fair point about last year. I agree, it was more impressive in its own way.

it's strange and i don't know exactly why my attitudes changed maybe it's an age thing

although never been too fussed about the friendlies - i can remember from say 1990 to say 2002 - ages 8 till 20 - supporting england, getting the pub hours before kick off with all my mates, getting bladdered and being really up for the games.

I have always been aware of my dad not giving a **** for england - but with me it seemed the 'thing' to do - everyone was at the pub, the atmosphere was great etc etc

why do i not really care now - i put it down to a number of things

firstly England's superb knack of dissapointing you, in the end i stopped getting excited and up for it

secondly - England become ****ing boring to watch, no passion, no drive

thirdly - managers - i grew with up Robson, Taylor, Venables, Keegan as managers - now whether they were good or not i'm not bothered about, but they were characters, they were great to watch, good to listen too, you felt every emotion with them they laughed and cried with u - i just lost all interest with erikisson, mclaren was a clown and capello has as much personality and charisma as a dead duck.

fourthly - the above more or less moves on to the next point - the players
the modern game has created more spoilt little cunts than model pro's - all these whiny cheating mouthy little *******s - there is no more characters or players that in general the whole country respects (i'm not talking about support them or love them but lets do a quick list to highlight)

I enjoyed watching - Seaman, Adams, Sol Campbell, Stuart Pearce, Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, Paul Ince, Paul Scholes, Teddy Sheringham, Les Ferdinand, Terry Butcher, David Platt, Peter Beardlsey, Gazza, and obv all the liverpool players who represented England (barnes, Redknapp, McMananman etc) etc etc etc etc -i could go on and i'm sure there is people i have missed or obv some people might not agree with one or two but in general you see the point - but was it just me or did the majority of the nation get behind these players.

compare them to, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Gary Neville, Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and most of the ******s who have played for england in the last 5 or 6 years - bunch of cunts.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

That list is blatantly missing Carlton Palmer, Paul Stewart and Geoff Thomas.

I have two teams - Liverpool and my local team. Aside from that i'm not bothered in the slightest really.
Always hope Norn Iron and ROI do well but i've no real passion for them as i do have with Liverpool and my local side.
