Who's impressed people this season so far?

Non LFC players only. For me:

Ricardo Fuller - the new Jason Roberts in my book. He was so bad last time in the PL I think that his improvement is worthy of note.

Frank Lampard - played from a less deep base without a proper deep lying holding player (Mikel still looks like a player learning the job IMO) has been much more creative this season. Less goals for him without Drogba up top to run off but overall he has excelled in the sort of slight change to his position that has floored him for years in the England team.

Denilson: Not the ideal player for the Arsenal team but his personal performances have been excellent.

Ashley Young: Keeps getting better - uses his pace well, neat close skills now crosses well regularly and has improved his finishing.

Ian Ashbee: used to watch him at Cambridge United - always looked a decent player but never thought I would see him in the PL but he has been a steady performer and good leader.

Overall the Bolton, Hull and Fulham teams have impressed me relative to how well I thought they would do.

Amr Zaki of Wigan has gone off the boil but nonetheless he has had a very impressive debut season.

Have to say how impresssed, begrudgingly, I have been of Carrick at Utd.

Last but not least I would say Agbonlahor is looking like a genuine star for the future.

Our very own Xabi Alonso after a couple of poor seasons he's back on form this year.

Agbonlahor and Young at Aston Villa have done really well, certainly been the main attacking catalysts for their rise in to the top 4.
      We come not to play.

The boy Belhadj at Pompey has really impressed me with his gung-ho attacking play.

Giovanni at Hull. He's been nothing short of fantastic.

Xabi Alonso has been the best player in the premiership this season.

Other impressive players - a.young, jenas, melbranque.

Agbonlahor – he looks about a stone heavier muscle wise, and his finishing has improved amazingly.

Stephen Ireland - the boy had potential and the end of last season, I thought it was going to be Sayonara for the man with the pink alloys but he has 'stepped to the plate' to use a phrase Shaggy loves, and made himself a fixture in a rather lopsided unbalanced Manchester City side.

Lee Cattermole - once linked with us, he has become a bit of a midfield lynchpin for the Wigan side. Aggressive tackling along with a decent range of passing has made this former Boro man stand out and considering his price of £3.5m, you can say, its money well spent from Steve Bruce.

Amr Zaki - adapted to Premier League football like a duck to water, the man is built like a brickhouse, good in the air and a keen eye on goal. Unfortunately for footballing purists, it doesn't look like he would stay at Wigan if one of the top five come crawling.

Brede Hangeland - rock solid and has been one of the reasons why Fulham have done reasonably well this season especially at home. Good buy especially in a difficult period of purchasing players.

Stephen Ireland at Man City has had a good season personally (even though City have been awful).

Ashley Young and Agbonlahor have done well with Villa

Zaki at Wigan before he got injured

                  Hull City as a team

Cant go further than those named already even though as much as I despise him Lampard has been good for the past few seasons.

For me the best one of them all has been Ashley Young. Looks a real talent and credit to O'Neill, despite many not liking him he has once again proven to be a cracking manager.

Anelka has impressed me loads, has really stepped up into the number 9 role and smashed goals in.
Young and Abonglahor-classy young players, frightening pace and talented

Ashley Young - I doubt he'll come here, especially as Aston Villa look to be challenging the top 4 at the moment. Champions League place? Don't bet against it!
