Gordon is a superb keeper, though out injured at the moment. He is better at everything compared to Almunia and Wenger should have gone for him when he had the chance.
I think Foster is a really talented young keeper. From whatg I saw of him at Watford, the lad had all the attributes needed to play at the top level, the mancs are very lucky that he is so young and will learn a lot from van der saar.
Foster is what 25? Not as young as people think. He has very little experience. He might turn out to be all that but I don't see how not playing is likely to advance a keeper - a position where experience is key.

Gordon's decision making is average and he has no mental strength. A mid level team keeper unsuitable for anyone who wants to win things.

Schwazer is a good keeper but I see nothing in him to suggest he is any better than Almunia. While he is consistently very good I just don't particularly like him - he does something wrong that I can't put my finger on. I really don't think he is any better than Almunia though - if Almunia was in another team he would be getting praised very highly I think.

fosters not 25 is he? Still think the mancs have a real gem there.
Think you are being very harsh on Gordon, he is terrific keeper and deserves to be at a higher level than Sunderland.
Guess the way you view Scharwzer is how i view Alumnia, but I think he is consistently better than Almunia, no obvious weakness and does not make gaffs.
btw whilst I was off, I realised I've forgotten to add to my list

      Jasskelinan

      Howard
      .

Jussi I like as a keeper. The main worry with both him and Schwarzer is mentality and concentration. Whatever my personal and some what arbitrary problems with the latter I really see nothing in either to show they are really top class and therefore taking the risk that they can't handle top level games where are least Almunia has shown he can and bounces back from bad performances well.

Howards time at United I think highlighted that he didn't really have top level ability. He is good but isn't right concentration wise for a top team.

Ben Foster is indeed 25 and you have to think if he is good enough Fergie wouldn't sell him to Wenger.

Gordon has been poor for Sunderland in the main IMO. Good shot stopper but his confidence goes when he makes a mistake.

Foster is a very strange one. Keepers do tend to blossom as they get a lot older but unless I'm mistaken the 25 year old Foster never played a single game for Stoke (who at the time yo-yo'd between the 2nd and 3rd tiers of English football) before the Mancs signed him. He did well on loan at Watford and suddenly a lot of Manc-centric pundits were declaring him the future of English goalkeeping.

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
