      Stoke v Man City............

      Delap is gone!

Makes me laugh how Beckham got sent of v Argentina in France'98 fo a little flick. Yet SWP boots Delap and doesn't even get booked!

        Great entertainment

SWP should have probably got a yellow for the kick back at Delap mind.

I hope Stoke get relegated anyway.

Wasn't a sending off. Utd fixing the league, as per.

Yeah it was. The trip on SWP was a yellow, and then he booted the ball at him from point blank range which was another yellow. Correct decision IMO.

It aint a booking trying to kick the ball at someone when it's in play.

I didn't say it was, I said it was two yellow card offences. Why did he kick the ball into him like that other than to do him harm?

And WTF have UTD got to do with it RE your fixing the league thing? You're really not very good at this you know.

And it came from a throw-in somehow, too. Without Delap playing, mind.

So why did he get a straight red then?

Wright-Phillips should have had a yellow for his lunge in the first place.
                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I don't know, I can't speak for the ref. I just think that both were worthy of a yellow which = red. If the ref thinks the same then he's unlikely to stand there and show the yellow, then another yellow, and then a red

I don't think there was anything wrong with SWP's original tackle. If Gerrard or Mascherano had done that we'd be saying good tackle. I do think he should have got a yellow for his kick back at Delap though.

                          Who'd be a ref eh?

Delap probably did deserve red but I think there's a different punishment for two yellows versus a straight red so it's important. I can see the ref may have sent him off for kicking the ball into him since that was after the whistle and fairly obviously unsporting, to say the least. It was caused by the ref missing the foul by Wright-Phillips, not that that legitimises it of course.

Tich's foul was a yellow because he jumped into the tackle, both feet were off the ground, studs may have been showing. I think he got the ball but he got the man too and anyway if he lunges like that it's a foul irrespective of whether he got the ball (although, as far as I'm concerned, the fact he did would make it not a sending off).

Besides the replays show the Little'un deserved a red for retaliation. A couple of poor decisions by the ref who, by the way, I don't recall f*cking up so badly before.
                            .

What Neil said. Should have been 10 vs 10.
