    Want:

Boro - for some reason I just dislike them, without being able to argue why...
Stoke - the most destructive and boring team ATM
Spurs - let alone because of their unrealistic buys and ambitions each year

    Think:

    Boro - not good enough
    WBA - absolutly ****e
Stoke or blackburn - can't figure which one, but they will be fighting for it I think...

Unlike what a lot of you think, it won't be the 3 promoted teams that go down, at least one "established" PL team goes down each year (or just about). So I will say boro is dooooommed

No hurt feelings, just an inability to read the instructions, which asked for realistic choices.

          Want

Boro - because we can never beat them at their place
          Spurs - amusement value
Hull or Stoke - not really bothered which

          Think

          West Brom
          Stoke
          Hull

Newcastle have a dreadful run-in but I think they'll just about scrape it.

If you didn't know better you would think half the division is aiming for relegation at the minute. WBA can be a nice side to watch but can't defend for toffee so they are the one that will definitely go (obviously I guess). Really pretty much impossible to split the rest of the contenders. You'd think that it will come down to goalscoring prowess as they are all middling defensive teams. As such Blackburn have the players to get out of trouble, as do Newcastle if they can get any of them on the pitch. So in conclusion I'm going with Boro and Stoke although Hull are making a late run for it.

Newcastle and Spurs both have tough set of games ahead. Hope one of the two cops it but probably not.

Spurs will be fine, they have a combination of good players and a manager who can get the best out of them.

Whichever way i look at it, i just cant see Newcastle getting enough points. They have 10 games left and will probably need to win at LEAST 3 of them, if not 4.

Unless they're going to beat one of us (a), Arsenal (h), Chelsea (h), Villa (a) or Spurs (a), they'll need 3 or 4 wins out of the other 5 games. I just cant see where the points will come from.

Update, Hull looking in better shape now. Newcastle, as predicted, are heading for serious trouble.

8 games left at an absolute minimum of 3 wins required from:

                    Chelsea (h)
                    Stoke (a)
                    Spurs (a)
                    Portsmouth (h)
                    Liverpool (a)
                    Middlesbrough (h)
                    Fulham (h)
                    Aston Villa (a)

Where are the 9 or 10 points going to come from?

Maybe the home games against Pompey, Boro & Fulham could get them 9 points, but 2 of those games are their last 2 homes of the season. They wont want to only have taken 3 or 4 points between now and May 9th.

West Brom are definitely going down, which is a shame because I like them.

I won't miss Boro if they go down. **** club, **** fans and always seem to get a result against us.

I despise Newcastle and it would be funny to see them go down but I actually prefer to keep watching them struggle in the Prem and laugh.

I don't want Blackburn to go down, yeah Big Sam's there but they're a good away ground for Liverpool fans.

I hate Stoke and everything they stand for in terms of play style. I'd rather keep Newcastle in the league and have them go down along with Brom/Boro.

Pompey and Sunderland won't and shouldn't go down because I like them both. I don't hate today's Bolton as much as I used to and it'd be a shame to see Hull collapse after such a great start.

                      So want:
Boro and Stoke (along with Brom)

                      Think:
Boro and Newcastle (their run in is tough)

Do people agree that newcastle are basically ****ed?

It'll be hilarious to see such a 'big club' in the Championship.

I heard a report over the weekend, which suggested that Newcastle are the ONLY club in the PL who do NOT have clauses in their players' contracts, which would mean they'd take a wage cut if the club is relegated

If that's true, they'll be truly screwed. If they cant find buyers, they'll be stuck with those huge wages and the parachute payments wont help them greatly.

They'll either have expensive wages to pay and much less ticket revenue coming in - or they'll sell anyone half decent and struggle to get promoted back into the PL.

Another Leeds is on the cards.

Only down side is that it's 6 points which we'll need to win elsewhere.

Thats the primary reason I dont want Newcastle to go down. They are awesome for our GD also.

Despite all their lunatic best fans in the universe jingoism, they are an entertaining club who will be a loss to the premiership. I would rather watch a game against newcastle than hull or stoke.

I concur. Whilst it would be extremely amusing to watch the geordies go down their joke of a club, and enduring lack of success on the pitch, bring colour, comedy and farce to the Premiership story. Plus it's a guaranteed 6pts for us every year.

I think West Brom are definitely screwed and perhaps Boro too.

The third slot i reckon will be filled by Hull or if they're not very careful Newcastle.

I'd like Stoke to go down but they've got home games coming up against fellow strugglers and i think they'll get enough points to scrape out of trouble.

This thing about Newcastle giving us 6 points - whilst i agree, shouldnt we realistically expect whoever comes up to also give us 6 points?

Anyone seriously worried that we wouldnt get 6 points off Wolves, Birmingham, Reading, Sheffield United etc?
