Who could still be relegated argument

Having a debate with somone right now who is is arguing the following.

Any of the teams in the Premiership lower than 8th place could still technically be relegated if any of the teams in places 19 through 8 were to lose all of their remaining games.

For example West Ham could still technically be relegated if they lose all of their remaining games and Newcastle or Boro win all of thiers . My argument is that the teams below couldnt all possibly lose all of their remaining games as they have to play each other still.

I dont think anyone above 14th place could be relegated based on who has to play who, but I am lazy and cant be arsed/clever enough to figure it out .

There's too many senarios to work through, but as you say there are teams in the bottom half who have to play one another so both teams can't get maximum points meaning teams like West Ham will be safe
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Whoever you're arguing with is an idiot

At best guess I'd say the line is somewhere between Wigan and Bolton...

Two teams managed by Big Sam down in the same season., that would be excellent!

Everyone below Wigan are still in danget to some extent. I would say that three from the bottom six will go down though.

Exactly the ones I'd like to see piss off. Actually I'd like West Brom to enjoy a miracle and Stoke to go down instead, but you can't have everything.

Seeing Fat Sam go down needs no explaining. As for Newcastle, I've had a soft spot for them most of my life (the 1974 FA Cup Final is my first football memory), but the past few years the soap opera they represent has been a grotesque spectacle, their fans are Messiah-seeking morons who viciously turn on their own, and I find it completely ridiculous that a club who haven't won anything for four decades consider themselves a big club.

I see it as staying the same, the barcodes, boro and wba are down i reckon. I wouldnt care if either blackburn or pompey went down but i rather hope sunderland and hull can avoid the drop.

So you want West Brom to beat Liverpool so the mancs can win the league.

They don't need to beat us. If the beat Spurs, Wigan and Blackburn they're on 37 points and probably safe. The Great Escape!

But if Stoke are currently on 39 points who he wants to go down, it would require WBA 40 to be safe.

Would like to see all the 3 north east teams go down. Newcastle, Middlesborough and Sunderland. But as West Brom are so far adrift I will be happy if Newcastle and Middlesborough go down with them
