    Martin Keown

Looks like a brute, played like a thug but then he opens his mouth....

    Genuinely intelligent, eloquent bloke.

    I like him.

    Hadn't noticed either way tbh.

    Anything specific bring this on?

He lives near me and always helps out the local youth teams. Used to take the train to Arsenals training by all accounts instead of driving some Bentley or Ferrari.

Aye he talks sense. Quite like Dixon as a pundit too.
"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

He's a ****ing moron. Just seen him talking ****e while analysing our game on MOTD2.

Firstly, he has a go at Kuyt for not going 'at' defenders - shows a few examples where Kuyt receives the ball and Keown insists that he should go at his man and beat him - does Martin Keown ever watch football? Is he aware that Kuyt has next to zero pace? How does Keown suggest Kuyt go about going at and beating his defender when he has no pace? Idiotic analysis.

I'd love Kuyt to be quick but he isnt and there's nothing he can do about it. All he can do is realise what he cannot do and not try doing it.

One of the things that ****s me off about footballers is when they try to do things they're PLAINLY incapable of doing - it pisses me right off. Kuyt rarely does this and if he did try to go 'at' defenders, he'd lose the ball and morons like Keown would be having a go at him for it.

Secondly, he has a go at Kuyt for coming inside when he gets the ball.

"A natural winger would be looking to go wide". Well yes Martin, perhaps he would. But Kuyt, as Helen Keller would be able to tell you, isnt a winger.

Then, you have Keown's 'analysis' for Kuyt's goal. Keown marks out the gap between the two defenders and bleats on hysterically that Kuyt 'wants to go at them, he wants to go between them, into the gap'.

Well no, if he did want to do that, he'd have tried to.

Ape-man continues: 'But no, he changes his mind and comes wider, skips past the defender and he's clinical from there'. Actually Martin, much as we love Dirk's effort and contribution, clinical from the edge of the box, he isnt.

Bizarre and seemingly random ramblings from a idiotic pundit.

He starts off having a go at Kuyt for not going at his man only to then talk about Kuyt 'going at' the defenders for his goal. He talks about him always wanting to come inside, instead of going on the outside and taking on the fullback - but then says how dangerous Kuyt is through the middle and suggests that this is the area we 'need' him to be.

          Walking contradiction and utter cretin.

Yep, that wasn't his finest moment of anaylsis I'll admit, but overall I think he's decent.

You might be right generally speaking mate. I was just going to come on and post about his nonsensical musings tonight, but perhaps he's normally alright - i was basing my post purely on what he was saying tonight.

Oh - and both Dixon and Keown picked their combined LFC/Scum team, and both were bull****.

                    Dixon's:

                    VDS
                    O'Shea Vidic Ferdinand Evra
                    Carrick Fletcher
                    Ronaldo Gerrard Rooney
                    Torres

                    Keown's:

                    VDS
                    O'Shea Vidic Ferdinand Evra
                    Carrick Mascherano
                    Ronaldo Gerrard Rooney
                    Torres

                    Pair of idiots.

                    The actual best combined team:

                    Reina
                    Arbeloa Vidic Ferdinand Evra
                    Alonso Mascherano
                    Ronaldo Gerrard Rooney
                    Torres

I know some may argue about Arbeloa, but is Gary Neville (who cant play anymore) better than him? Is Rafael (with about 10 games to his name) better? Is O'Shea? No.

Given the fact the Adams drove from the ground recon it was a much safer bet.

                        I think he's a prat.

I remember last year before the CL quarter-finals him slagging us off and giving us no chance against Arsenal over the 2 legs. He said the tie would be over in the 1st leg at Emirates. Moron just like Merson.

as much as I hate to say this but going on facts & figures then vds has had a better season. Pepe is so far better than him though its laughable.

For me the only scum players to get in my team would be Vidic, ladyboy, Rooney & maybe at a push if I really had to Evra (although a fully fit aurelio pisses over evra).

Shows that we still have a wide issue mind.
