I think there would be real problems with drafting the regulations, let alone with whether the clubs would actually accept it.

I agree though, something needs to be done about serial offenders.

One thing that would help a little would be for commentators and pundits to stop slagging off the supposedly "absurd" rule where players receiving treatment have to go off the the field. It may not have solved the problem but IMO it has stopped timewasting and feigning injury to some extent.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Such regulations would clean up the game, I think most clubs would be in favour of it. Punishing clubs rather than just players would mean the clubs would discourage players from doing it. If players knew there was the potential to have points deducted it would remove any possible advantage they might gain.

Admittedly it will never happen but it's a nice idea
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

You're right but serial cheats like Drogba are SO good at cheating they find ways around it. During the Barca game as Barca counter attacked he went down clutching his head knowing full well the ref would stop the game and hence end Barca's counter attack. The replay clearly showed there was no contact with his head and that he was obviously cheating. Of course there was when he rolled back on the pitch against us which was laughable as the ref shouldnt have stopped the game and he was off the pitch to start with.

Cheats will always find a way to bend and manipulate the rules. Much like MPs and their expense claims really.
