They are mate. Maybe not better than the Barca first XI, but better than that line up.

    Agreed.

They started perfectly mind. I always say that if an English team goes out with a quick tempo they will always steam over foreign opposition. But they only played at that tempo in that one spell, other than maybe a short time where they attacked after the second goal.

They simply didn't get at Barca enough.

That said, goals change games. Pique inspired display at the back and sublime early block. Vidic again going missing in a big game. If you attack him he cracks.
    Forwards.......

I can't believe how ungracious people are being.

Man U tried really hard tonight but were narrowly beaten.

Plus they won so many trophies this season.

        How about some respect?

I just sent the ****ers on sky a email

Messi is the best player in the world and tonight proved it. United rely on Ronaldo so so much they would be in serious trouble without him. Typical united fans coming on the show with their conspiracy theories take the defeat gracefully. Liverpool showed united up when they beat them 4-1 and barca did tonight.

When you are on top - you have to score. United weren't clinical and two mistakes at this level, any team will be put to the sword. United's defence isn't all that its cracked up to be. Put pressure on their defence and they will crack. The gap between United's defence and midfield is unbelievably huge - always has been, always will be.

All this talk about Fletcher being missing, Barcelona were missing both Daniel Alves and Abidal. Two key players in their defence. United besides Hargreaves and Fletcher had a full squad yet Ferguson plays Giggs in midfield, Park on the wing and leaves Tevez on the bench. Wrong team, wrong tactics, wrong decisions (Anderson subbed at HT)

Ronaldo is off imo and tevez and without him they are ****ed as the rely on him so so much that when he plays **** the whole team do and that was proved tonight.

Messi was fantastic and ronaldo couldn't stand that so starting with the sly fouls
I think you're wrong on most points there mate.

Messi was not fantastic, but he scored so he did his job. Ronaldo will probably stay IMO. And Craig H thought Man Utd would sit back, but they pressed quite high up, which is why Barca found huge gaps in their midfield.

Chelsea played Craigs way and whilst it was ugly it nearly (and probably should have ) worked. Man Utd came out and made it an open and entertaining game, but they played right into Barcas hands.

Man Utd were simply too arrogant. They played like they thought they could match Barca in keeping possession. They were miles off. And Carrick was probably the worst player on the park. Swap him for Xabi and man Utd would have been through on numerous occasions. His passes to Rooney were terrible.

                How I laughed..........

Well I think United planned to do their stifling job. The team was picked and set-up to do that. Mr Ferguson pointedly said afterwards "Giggs did some good things but we wanted more protection in deeper areas". I just think the players got carried away by a good first few minutes (Barca often take 5-10 mins to get their passing going) and got a collective hard-on. They thought they could beat Barca at their own game and that was never going to happen. The goal changed things, Barca clicked and United barely got the ball back.

Ferguson was rash in bringing Tevez on at HT. Too keen to prove how attacking and decisive he is. Believing his own hype. They should've kept it tight and stayed in the game, but instead they got carved apart and chased shadows for long periods, and found themselves out of the game with 20 minutes left, and it could've been over much earlier. They were naive. Amateurs.

Messi did play well i thought, xavi was fantastic and iniesta on a different planet but they were allowed time on the ball and scum gave it away cheaply. Park looked second rate, giggs was a pedestrian and thought ronaldo looked good in patches but just cant be arsed tracking back.

allegedly scum played well for first ten minutes ( didnt see it ) but all i saw was them chasing shadows and they found gaps in there midfield becuase it was non existent

Agreed on all counts. What makes me laugh is how when Anderson plays everyone at Sky and ITV expect him to be buzzing about the midfield getting stuck in. He has done this once in his whole career, against Gerrard when they beat us at Anfield, I think.

He has and always will be more comfartable on the attack.
