Rafa would have to be a loon to ever want to manage them.

A part time summer job has more security.

When they got rid of Mijatovic last month I assumed they would get rid of this role of Director of Football and make the job more appealing to people like Wenger and Benitez.

Instead they brought in Valdano and Zidane so as usual the 'manager' is really just a training ground coach. Perez, Valdano and Zidane will buy the players and the Pelegrino has no real authority. This is why Wenger was not interested

the only one who had any succes with them, was del bosque and he was there the longest, so i think that says it all really.

Depends what you call success mate. Capello won La Liga for them.

its a circus of a football club which has always amazed me that it some how keeps ticking over without completley imploding (prob thanks to the government money thrown their way )

Real Madrid just come across to me as Newcastle but with success - ie, sack managers, bring back old managers, sack them again, sign expensive attacking players when they desperatley need a defender who can kick a ball etc.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

wel del bosque did win the CL twice and he did build what was at that time the best team in the world, granted he did have a lot of funds

Bet newcastle would have a similar turnover of managers, just without the trophies!

Del Bosque won 2 Ligas and 2 CLs in 4 years.

                And was still sacked.

Pellegrini will probably win the league and get sacked for not playing nice enough football or something. Suppose you cant argue with what theyve won but I absolutely loathe the way they operate.

Villarreal have always played nice football but the problem with them was the lack of consistency in the side. They were second last season but have come fifth, missing out on the CL spot.

With Zidane been given the Director role at the club, its obvious Perez wants to attract some big names to the club. Perez treats Real Madrid as a business; an unfortunate circumstance of the way the game has evolved. All you have to do is look at the comments he made about Ronaldo. Real Madrid lost something like 40% in revenue the year David Beckham left the club so they are desperate to recoup some of the money back.

With Pelligrini, he is Wenger without the constant moaning and bitching. Nice guy, knows the Spanish set up, a yes man if ever you have seen one. It will be a test to see whether he can cope with the intense pressure and scrutiny as he lacks the experience of mounting a title challenge in La Liga.
