    Ronaldo to Real Madrid

Seems this one is about to be concluded, have a friend over in spain and its all over there papers at the moment, will be concluded this month.

Good riddance to the ladyboy ****, hope this happens......Potentially Tevez and Ronaldo thats half there goals and strikeforce

Reports in Spain suggest that new Madrid president Florentino Perez has been in talks with the Premier League club and are on the verge of breaking their own world record transfer, set just a few days ago for Kaka, to bring Ronaldo to the Bernabeu.

Valdano's comments will only serve to add fuel to the speculation that the Spanish giants have upped their efforts to sign the Portugal winger.

"I can't answer any questions about him," he told TVE. "I can only talk about players who are on their way here, not about those we are in negotiations over.

"He is a great professional, he dedicates a very great deal of time to his work. He is a great footballer and a very good professional."

Ronaldo has been enjoying the close season, spending time in Sardinia and Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old obviously enjoys the trappings of his fame, but Valdano insists he is still the perfect player for Madrid.

"According to the information we have managed to obtain, he is an excellent professional," he added. "You don't get the player's body he has, which is a footballing advertisement, without working a great deal.

"Another thing is that his reputation as an officially good-looking guy, and a social or advertising model, blurs his image a bit.

    "He is a great footballer."

Speculation has been rife in the Spanish capital about new arrivals at the Bernabeu ever since the return of Perez, who presided over the famous 'Galacticos' era at the club.

And while they are reportedly ready to pay 89 million euros for Ronaldo, Valdano has revealed they will not break the bank for Valencia striker David Villa.

"He is an excellent striker but he has a prohibitive price," he said. "He is a player who interests us, but only at a reasonable price.

"There's a long way to the start of the season and the summer is very long - these comings and goings will be very interesting.

"They have written about hundreds of players who dream about coming to Real Madrid and it's logical that one of those will end up in the side."

I'd rather they signed Ribery to be honest. If the Mancs end up getting him I will cry

How many times has he said that he's a good footballer in this article? Still, I see no conclusion to this saga based on this report. Have I missed something?

I'll be curious to see what will be the reactions of some people in here when Real will be coming banging on our door or simply claiming that they've agreed a deal to sign Xabi. I feel Man Utd has been harshly treated in this.

        they did or didnt?

Cracking player but dont think he will score 20+ a year in the premiership.

could see that being part of the agreement though, RM hands off Ribery although hasnt he said he wouldnt come to england?

        mind you money talks

Of course something is happening, Madrid has got their bandwagon rolling. Ronaldo just signed a new contract with United last season. He's a **** IMO and deserves to be part of that circus that is Real Madrid. They fit perfectly well.

The mancs will defo not get Ribery as he came out last week and said there is no way he will move to england as the weather is worse than germany and that is the mains reason he wants out of germany.

The report loses credibility when the journalist is too stupid or lazy to get names right.

Jorge Valdano is Real Madrid's general director. I reckon he made those comments.

Anyway, from the Beeb's gossip column:

1648 BST: Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said he intends to talk to Manchester United in an attempt to convince the club to let Cristiano Ronaldo join them. "I have not yet spoken to them but I will do it in the coming days," he told Spanish public radio RNE late on Tuesday. (PA news wire)

However, Real Madrid general director Jorge Valdano has claimed the club are already in negotiations with United. (AFP news wire)

1430 BST: Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has poured doubt on the Spanish clubs chances of signing French international midfielder Frank Ribery - also a reported target of Chelsea and Manchester United - from Bayern Munich, saying "Bayern do not want to sell, therefore I have to be respectful to the club." The way it's written is weird, there'd normally be some mention of Valdano, before referring directly to 'his comments'.

Ribery has said time and time again that he will not move to England. It won't happen, he hates the place.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

ribery will either stay at bayern or move to barca, as bayern have a lot more integrity than milan(regarding the kaka deal), and you do not want to get on the wrong side of kaiser franz imo, so madrid will have to back off if bayern don't want to sell, and they've made it pretty obvious they don't.
