yeh depressing isnt it, feels like loosing twice. i did it once while in a restraunt with a girl, got a text that argentina had lost so went to the bogs to phone in another bet for the rest of the acca. was convinced it would win they were all bankers. sat down at the table and realized i still had to pay for the meal (all of it it was my treat) and i'd just blasted all my money on the bet. tried to drag the meal out as long as possible, didnt work. tried to pay the bill on the card anyway but got humiliated as it declined. she had to pay on her card, well embarassing.

bet lost anyway, lost the lot

So you were planning to drag the meal out until the entire acca came off and you had the funds in your account to pay for the meal?

somehow, despite qualifying for our ceremonial mauling by spain later today, i still feel that we are probably the worst team there. you can actually HEAR john harkes shake his head in the commentary over here
